This is exactly why McCain didn't want to talk about Obama's loose connections to Ayers. Palin really set him up on this one. Thank you, Sarah!

Looking down on other people because they have an opinion different from yours is counter productive. There are many highly educated people posting here. One guy was a recruiter for Blackwater, an attorney, something in the insurance field and I'm sure an Indian Chief. Personally I'm an astronaut. No one is impressed.

I cannot emunerate off the top of my head all the Currenteers who, over the past two years, have shown excellent knowledge of history in their posts and submissions, but they certainly are many.

A senate committee also said building seven of WTC, a 40+ story building, fell due to fires on three floors....
saying McCain was cleared of wrongdoing by the a senate committee, is bull. Rumsfeld is walking around a free man, and everyone knows he belongs in a cell....

I think he was never charged because he gave evidence on his cohorts? He is running for President of course we need to look into his past behavior. He made it possible for Keating to steal from people for two more years. Presidential in a Bush world not in ours.

McCain was not cleared of charges. There was no trial. A senate subcommittee declared him guilty of "poor judgement." There never was a civil court trial.

You are broad-brushing here - a great many people posting on Current are quite knowledgeable about history.

Thanks Vierotchka! Yes, a great many of us thoroughly enjoy history and can utilize historical data to analyze current events. This is a wonderful example of why broad generalizations are dangerous.

A must watch. If McCain was cleared, it must have been by his peers who probably themselves had much to hide. Poor judgment my arse, McCain is a gangster.

This video is nothing special.
In the end, McCain was cleared by the Senate Ethics Committee of acting improperly or violating any law or Senate rule, but was mildly rebuked for exercising "poor judgment".[93][91] In his 1992 re-election bid, the Keating Five affair was not a major issue,[94] and he won handily, gaining 56 percent of the vote to defeat Democratic community and civil rights activist Claire Sargent and independent former Governor Evan Mecham.

It would make sense that McCain would call for deregulation...this proves it; at least to me.
