One of the world's fattest men - who weighed an estimated 450 kilos - has died of a heart attack in Mexico.

Morbidly obese Jose Luis Garza Ramirez († 47) complained of pain yesterday morning and was taken to hospital, according to the ‘El Universal’ newspaper, but doctors were unable to save him.

Emergency workers in the city of Juarezin Nuevo Leon had to knock down a bedroom wall to remove Garza, because his huge body could no longer fit through the door.

A net and a sturdy rope were needed to move the almost-half ton man onto the back of a pick-up truck.

    • The photographs/video in this article are incorrect: the deceased was José Luis Garza, but the one pictured is fellow Mexican Manuel Uribe, the world`s "biggest" man, who currently undergoes weight treatment. Garza didn't have the chance to save his life while Uribe is still very commited to change his luck, beside family and fiancé.

    • This is so sad! He had lost so much weight and had just announced his engagement ... it is really upsetting that he would get this far and manage to turn his life around to such a great degree only to die!

No, this is Manuel Uribe, also of Mexico who is also billed the world's fattest man. He is still alive and recently married his girl friend.
The other picture above is also of Manuel. Reporters or whoever that don't get their stories straight can be annoying. The man that died was named Jose Ramirez.
