The US military has admitted killing 33 civilians in an air strike on a village in Afghanistan in August, far more than it has previously acknowledged.

    • Why are humans still killing each other? :O( It's 2008 and we all should be helping each other. The world isn't going to last much longer for us all because of money. Great. We are all human. No one person is better then the other person. WE ALL are trying to survive. Instead, sadly, Mother Nature is caught in the middle and trying to survive herself. Eventually shes going to have enough. Don't people get that? Money will cease to exist. WE all should be focused on our own families and do everything in our power to help sustain our planet. We only have one. Don't you know that?..........If we can send people into outer space plus everything else humans have accomplished , we can definitely pull together and do something about this crises before it gets worse for everyone. Please?

    • Oh yes, poor soldiers who SIGNED UP TO FIGHT.

If they get psychological trauma after taking another human being's life then it's the least that they deserve, or else they only deserve our pity for being stupid enough to join the army without thinking through what they might have to do when called up for a war.

Do you know why half of the people who join the military really join? It is beacuse the government keeps at poverty level. Pay the bills, feed the kids, have a place to live...they can't work somewhere else to pay for that or go to school... so they are lied to saying they will have school paid for on path for a better career a beter life. They are fed these lies to bait them into joining. Don't go calling anybody an idiot who fights for this country..granted I do not support the war...I do support those who are fighting.

    • These kinds of things happen in war, It is very sad when civilians are killed, I feel for their families and who ever pushed the button. I have a friend who was a crew chief of a huey helicopter in Vietnam and went to a village to evacuate the civilians ahead of a search and destroy operation and when they picked up their load of villagers he turned around just in time too see a kid they had just picked up with a live grenade that had the pin just pulled he quickly kicked her out the door and watched in horror as she blew up less than 100 feet from the chopper. He lives with this every day of his life.

I also knew a POW of VietNam and when I knew him, he was messed up, what he did and what he saw, he told us about, and I saw some pics.

He was one messed up person, now all these years later and my son in law is in the Army,

I am a total peace pusher, I raised my daughter to be a peace pusher, but alas LOVE, anyway,

WAR IS NOT GOOD FOR ANY LIVING THING

I am sorry for your friend, and I truely pray that the world will come to its senses in my lifetime.

However, I am 52 years old, and I see no change for the better (except the internet).

      god bless us all

    • How dare we call ourselves liberators, or heroes. If anything we're just as bad as these "terrorists" if not worst. By "we" I mean the government that represents us, who are partially responsible for all the shit stains on the fan. There's a serious double standard here. So they're terrorists in the sense that they're Islamic Fundamentalists, but we're NOT because, we pay millions to mass media to say otherwise, when in fact, we frighten and condescend others into obeying us? Us, by which I mean, U.S soldiers with a bone to pick and egos to get off. (I feel bad for thinking this way of our soldiers, but for all the interviews I've seen of the ones that have come back - the vids on YouTube - I seem to get the feeling that some of them didn't care that they were shooting at the "wrong" people, as I know them to be.) Our soldiers have been lied to, and some actually don't care as long as they're able to kill someone in the name of Bush. Most, I would think, are confused and angry and pressured beyond any measure into doing their leader's dirty work. We have to bring them back, strategically and in haste, lest they continue to deteriorate psychologically; rendered into a lowest common denominator, tools, in a sick egotistic game for oil, drugs, weapons, and geo-strategic dominance. They're being used. Basically.

Speaking of fucking the meaning out of words and impregnating a new definition: is McCain, the liar, still tooting Petraeus's horn? Patraeus himself acknowledges the futility of the current situation in Iraq. McCain will bring the same ideological tactics to the table, nothing will change for the better. He's a, mostly, resentful, arrogant, elitist, crooked man anyway. He'll say anything to get what he wants.

Check out projectcensored, if you have any lingering questions about these some-odd killings; there's an interesting article, one of the top censored stories of this year, about a million and some-odd people dying because of us. Ethnic cleansing, if you ask me.

When a terrorist is portrayed as an Afghan man with dark features, and Bush says we're taking care of them, or, rather, that we should go after "them": what the hell do you think is really going on, what the fuck do you think we're really doing? The seeds of a global holocaust. Cleansing.

And soon, in America, because of Bush's attempts to further his powers past the limitations of the Constitution, very soon: MARTIAL LAW. Have you stopped to wonder why the bailout bill isn't, or hasn't been working? Surely. It's only a matter of time before people start hitting the streets in protest, and Bush's people manage another 9/11, or crisis, to "flash bomb" our common sense with emotions and pass more crooked, brilliant, legislation. Soon all of us protesters will be sent off to FEMA camps to die in our own ideals. I don't know. Perhaps I'm on to something...

*I'm speaking within the context of what I KNOW, or have accumulated through countless hours of research. I'm only 18, and I'm trying to keep up with this world. I've nothing else to do, so I research. Don't believe ANYTHING of what I've said to be true, or the absolute truth. However, take from what I've said, if anything, and go research it. You can't honestly expect cable news to give you the entire truth, right? Well, IF there is such thing as an absolute "truth". :)

    • To be fair, this atrocity is not only a shame on the US, EVERY major military power kills innocent civilians during conflicts, it's the act of war itself that we should be condemning.

    • War is about making money and stealing resources. This is what the US govt. has done in both Afghanistan (poppies>heroin) and Iraq (Oil)

    • Wars are always about money,
      Money trumps religion,
      everytime,

mainstream news does not announce these incidents, therefore the LEMMINGS do not believe those who are informed. If all the LEMMINGS paid attention the world would be outraged.

      peace
is the only way the world has never tried, We need to make PEACE more profitable than WAR.

    • I think the war has always been for money... when you look at any fights the US has ever gotten into, somehow they benefited from it... whether it be from the gun and ammo production or the more recent oil acquired from it, the US has benefited... I have a bad feeling if we don't change the US soon it will consume the rest of the world until it's nothing but chaos...

    • WOW. The military goes and does something awful. They kill innocent people in a war that we shouldn't be fighting and they go and say that it wasn't their fault? That is just sickening. They blame the Taliban saying that they wanted to fight there and it is their fault. WOW

    • The Government hides these kind of stuff from the people that the news won't show. These kind of things are more important than showing stars in the news.

    • Charma....what goes around comes around. Especially when the American people were tricked into thinking that this war was in retaliation to the bomb on the US...money...its about the money. Deals are made, pockets get fat and its the taxpayers that have to pay in the long wrong. Gas prices skyrocket, the housing market is on the edge of a disaster, Electricity gets 16% increase and now Natural Gas get 32% increase, ...Gotta love the US Government. The big green greedy giant.
