CNN Ties Sarah and Todd Palin to Anti-American Alaskan Independence Party

joebrilliant
The mainstream media has finally noticed Sarah and Todd Palins' ties to the rabidly anti-American secessionist group, the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP). A new CNN video report by anchor Rick Sanchez digs into the Palins' relationship with the AIP, noting that Todd Palin has been a member of the group and that Sarah Palin sent official video greetings as Governor of Alaska to the 2008 AIP convention. In this video, as pictured here, Palin praises the "important role" played by the AIP in Alaska politics.

    • This is astounding. I'm a little angry at my own ignorance to the situation. I'm glad its not new information but, this should be an immediate deal breaker.

      "
"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government, and I won't be buried under their damn flag.”

"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions.”

      -Joe Volger AIP

      Wow...Seriously?

Ayers has not reformed. That article lied right there. He's stated he would have done far worse.

And let's just say he was violent. Succession, though not great, is not violent.

On top of that when people from Texas go places they state "I'm a Texan" or "I'm from Texas" and it's rare to state they are from the United States. In essences it's Texan first.

    • Sounds like a lot of digging to try to find something to move the attention from Obama's questionable relationships...the many questionable relationships. How about Mrs. Obama's connections? Are they being investigated? and Mrs. Biden? Good Grief

Bill Ayers is hardly a questionable relationship. Of all the people Obama met as a senator, one of them was an old, respected professor whose passion is education, even back when he was protesting Vietnam.

You don't have to dig too deep to find out Mr. Palin is a secessionist.

      peppermintpatty,

Michele Obama was thoroughly investigated. Her record is squeaky clean, with higher marks than any of the candidates, or their spouses. She is Black and a women. She had to be perfect. Go figure, and stop hating.

Obama supposively was associated with Ayers back in the 80' s. This news regarding Palin and her husband is current information, as in the past 3 years. Her husband is a card carrying member of a terrorist group that wants to sever ties with the United States of America., while she endorses their philosophy (on tape).

There is a huge difference in both cases. Jammer, stop acting as if you do not know the difference.

    • "Palin backed [AIP chairman] Mark Chryson as he successfully advanced a host of anti-tax, pro-gun initiatives, including one that altered the state Constitution's language to better facilitate the formation of anti-government militias. She joined in their vendetta against several local officials they disliked, and listened to their advice about hiring. She attempted to name Stoll, a John Birch Society activist known in the Mat-Su Valley as 'Black Helicopter Steve,' to an empty Wasilla City Council seat. 'Every time I showed up her door was open,' said Chryson. 'And that policy continued when she became governor.'"

I couldn't help but wonder why CNN is the first cable news outlet to finally cover this story. Then, when Rick Sanchez read spokesman Michael Goldfarb's statement on-air, I got a clearer picture. That kind of 'information control' is chilling.

    • Because they know which side the "mainstream" or shall we say corporate media is on. They know that the standards are double. This is not a smear, Sarah made that video in 2008. Can we talk about her apocolyptal church and End Times belief system? Can we talk about her witch hunting pastor friend that she allowed to pray over her to ask God to Make a Way for her in politics???

Here's a thought, copied from another blog:

      Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage,
including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe
      disfiguring
car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while
      he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain
killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable
      organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?(The Keating Five
      were five
United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major
      political
scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s
      and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
      discipline
problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on
many occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality,
do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative
qualities in another when there is a color difference.

      Educational Background:

      Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in
      International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

      Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

      vs.

      John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

      Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters -journalism
      Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in
the land as well as our standing in the world.
      You make the call.

    • I think it is really unfair for Palin to point a finger at anyone and saying that they are unamerican, while she herself has associated with AIP? to think she could even give her support to separatist factions? I don't want that in my white house.

    • Is anyone else gouging their eyeballs out yet? I can't wait for this election to be over. Bill Maur is the most obnoxious person on TV and the people that cite his opinions are even more repugnant than the anti-christ himself. CNN really? Out of all the media outlets we have on the internet people still can't ignore main-stream media. Is this not why we have current.com?

    • So what... She's just another ambitious politician who will do anything to win. Isnt that the game. Lie like hell, distort the truth, promise anything and forget it, Stick it to the people at every chance. Why does anyone go through this grueling two years of campaigning hoping to win? Can you imagine all of the millions of tax free dollars spent only on the luxuries of traveling and living? I sure would'nt do it but then I am a citizen and I have a conscience and dont have the stomach for childishness of mudslinging spying of the other candidate etc. These people are not what I would expect to represent me. I would have looked for someone like Steve Forbes who certainly has the economic wisdom to lear this country, but he,s not a politician.

    • It's clearly stated that Governor Palin was never a member of the AIP. Therefore what is the relevance of CNN running this story? None, other than to smear and blur the line of reality.

David Neiwert from Salon.com? This is CNN's best independent reporter for this story? Are you kidding me? CNN even had to admit that this was a far left wing reporter? What a joke.

Get me something with substance, not some left wing hack.

    • As damning as this tidbit is to the Republican Party's race for the White House and their rapid attempt to douse the story on the air as we saw, I doubt the hardline anti-Obama supporters will really care about Palin's connection to a pro-secession organization. The double standard is in full effect, yet kudos to CNN for having the balls to report what others turned a blind eye towards.

    • the evidence is non substantial to prove that Sarah herself condones the separatists views of the AIP.

Still wouldn't vote for her anyways.
