No one even comes close to this pathetic, low life radio talk show host basically preaching hatred. I can't believe how many of his fanatical devotees actually get their news from sources like this.

I think Rush should shut the hell up. I'm not supporting Obama, but Col. Powell makes me optimistic about politics in America. He clearly thought out what he says and believes, and anyway if he wanted to vote for Obama if he was black HE WOULD OF PROBABLY OF COME OUT AND SUPPORTING HIM EARLY.

...Look at the picture.....Rush Limbaugh is not White....call him asshole....self-serving...anything...but not White...I prefer off-white...it fits him to a tee...and Obama is not Black....he seems to be a man trying to do something positive....the shade of his skin has nothing to do with anything.....this country needs to become color blind...the sooner the better....look at Andy in my icon....he is Black and White....and the colors always got along just fine.....Golden Ruler...Will.....

J...I am with you bro in exploring alternative ideas. However, I am voting for Obama...and it is not because he is black. Reality is, if something were to happen to him, a white guy would be the man. I am voting for the total package. Just call all blacks who vote for Obama, dumb. Because obvious they do not have the intellectual capacity to see past color.
A far as CP quitting, that is horse shit. He was driven out. He opted for diplomacy first and war third, but he was overruled..then he had to go up and sell a war that was not in the best interest of the U.S. Now he is endorsing a candidate that is saying how he felt...diplomacy first war third.

"Why is it so hard to admit that it's race…What's so problematic about admitting it?"
You see, for the ignorant neocons like Rush, their endorsements are all about race, so he assumes the same is true for everyone else.
"I thought you liberals thought this was a historic candidacy because finally we are going to elect a black guy…why hide behind this, why act like it's not about race?" The fact that we're going to elect the first black president is historical, but does not mean that's the REASON people are voting for Obama. We shouldn't deny that race is important in this election for various reasons- but implying that people are choosing their candidate ONLY on the color of their skin is not the same as commenting on the historical importance of it.
The people screaming "terrorist" at rallies- THEY are the ones voting based on skin color. This "he's black so he's voting for the black guy" crap is ridiculous. - 3 years ago

Lets stack all of Powells credential against all of Limbaughs...
A mountain and a mole hill.
And for every black voting for Obama because he is black, there is one white voting for McCain because he is white. So what? The majority of us are voting for who we think would be a better president, period.

J_Jammer:
I believe that he is not supporting McCain because he was forced to think, via the media and Obama's lying, that McCain is the same as Bush. After watching W. I will have to say even if one percent of that is true it is understandable why Powell would defect and vote for Obama instead of someone that is being stated as the same by many people. He quit on Bush and not because of Bush but because of who he decided to pick as his cabinet.
What I think of what Rush stated is true and reasonable to ask. Powell is not being truthful as to why he's voting for Obama. If he is truly voting for him on what he has to offer the question is important to ask when has he ever done this before? People would ask the same about someone who picked McCain...they always peeking into that past or they wouldn't bring up stupid things.
But this isn't stupid.
Powell should just state the truth that he's voting for Obama because ONE he's black..sure why not. And two because he's not Bush and he's had his taste of what Bush had to offer via that cabinet so he doesn't want what the media via Obama has dubbed a repeat.
I don't think it makes him bad, it makes him human.
I also don't think twisting what was stated by the radio man is worth anyone's time. He didn't state race to be racist but to state what is probably most likely true.
Past does dictate future.....

Please don't be a party to ignorance. If black people voted for a black man because he was BLACK Mr. Jessie Jackson would have been President years ago..Mr. Obama graduated at the TOP of his class. He is an outstanding lawyer. One of the Presidents jobs is to write and interpret law. Mr.Mcain is just out of touch. Mr.Obama loves all American people and his entire theme has been we are not Red or Blue Americans we are all Americans!! If any white person does not understand this man was given life from a WHITE woman. Mr. Obama is a man for the PEOPLE of America. He loves us all and will make sure the AMERICAN people are safe, secure and working. Remeber the jobs were sent overseas under McCain and take a look at the military pay scale for enlisted soldiers and ask yourself if Mr.McCain is really your man.If he has allowed soldiers to suffer after professing he is a proud soldier you wont get a thing under his administration. May peace, love, joy, and happiness find its way to your door. Please pray for Rush he is having a melt down or he could be another Strom Thurman in disquise!

I don't know, I once thought Jammer was intelligent or at least more intelligent than he tends to come off here but a clear pattern as emerged and I begin to question my own assessment.
Exactly how many public figures have been accused of supporting McCain solely or even initially because he's white? NONE, is the answer and why do you suppose that is? Conversely, just about every prominent figure that supports Sen. Obama that is of color seems to do so strictly based on race totally negating any of the Senators accomplishments or abilities. Apparently he could be any black guy off the street and we silly minorities would just fall in line behind him.

J_Jammer:
I think Jammer is intelligent. I often disagree with him, but based on his posts...I don't think there is any doubt that he is very smart. I was simply trying to illustrate how unfair it is was to question Powell's motives, especially when he went out of his way to clearly state his reasons. It was meant as an illustration. Of course Jammer has the right to question his motives (Powell is a big boy and I'm pretty sure he can handle it) and knowing Jammer from his posts, he will do a good job of it. Even if I disagree.
But I do have a question for Jammer and Rush. Did Colin Powell ever endorse or even support Jesse Jackson for President? Can you imagine that he would have? I think the answer is no on both counts and it's the same analogy that Rush made only in reverse.
