(Virginia)-A coalition of environmentalists, watermen and former government leaders said Tuesday it intends to sue the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and force a speedier cleanup of the Chesapeake Bay.

Led by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the coalition that includes a former Maryland governor and Washington, D.C., mayor said it will ask a federal judge to declare the EPA in violation of the Clean Water Act for not restoring the Bay yet - 25 years after the agency was tasked to lead a mid-Atlantic effort to revive North America's largest estuary.
