WiFi for Rural America Up in the Air

With airwaves freeing up from the big migration to digital, the FCC has some ideas on what to do with them. In an attempt to spread wireless broadband to the citizens who may have the least access to the world outside their own town, the FCC is seeking to open "white spaces." This could be the next huge step in the internet revolution... unless Dolly Parton has a say. Apparently she and others are deeply concerned about the effects this could have on devices such as wireless microphones. Technology has come a long way though, and proponents of the possible new measure say there's nothing to worry about.
