We may have to vote for Obama in the next national election...

but we don't have to be fooled by him.

    • I keep watching this because it gives me the tingles every time. We really did it.

And with all the voter list purging and fraud that was standing in the way, this victory is even MORE significant.

    • Do you think part of white america voted for Obama because he is 1/2 white? I don't believe america is ready to vote for a 100% black american. I wonder how the family of the white side feels? Left out? They are not good enough? The media calls him the 1st black american president. He is not yet the first nor was Bill. But he is 1st generation 1/2 black american. Can he really relate to black americans? How can he? I think he has more white beliefs in his heart but has a fear to show it.

    • Its OK Spanky, we righteous folks all lived through the Bush nightmare, with our country being dragged through the mud of illegal war and torture and our own government spying on us.

We lived through the GOP efforts to steal the American Dream away from us as they redistributed the wealth of the middle class up to the top .01% of Americans. I somehow doubt you were one of them...that means you have been duped into believing the Limbaugh/O'Riley lies that led you to vote against your own self interest just because the pinheads taught you to hate all things not Republican.

It's really going to be ok, you will live, and you will prosper like you haven't prospered since Reagan first began the class war against the American Middle Class.

Really, it will be ok. You will live to see that the world can respect us again, and the wars can end, and our people can stop dying for the greed of the aristocracy that we call Republicanism.

Really, if you are not making over $250,000/year, you have been a duped Republican.

      Come to the light...

I hope your ridiculous comment was not meant to make me doubt my vote....it actually made me have the opposite reaction. I'm even more proud that I never allowed myself to become as scared and negative as you.

spanky07, why must you troll? Does that mean you have no reasonable argument against Obama as president? Hmm? What was that? Oh, I got that right? Well, thanks for the input. Let it be declared that spanky07 has no justifiable argument against Barack Obama being president.

Being a racist homophobe is pretty time consuming, little spanky. However do you have time to troll?

Oh wait... are you paid to troll? Is this your... job?
Are you qualified to do anything honorable with your life, or does trolling pretty much sum up your skill set?

Have fun resenting Obama! And try to spread out your vitriolic trolling attempts next time, angry spanky. Its less believable if you post 5 times on the same article.

    • And so the pendulum swings back over to the democrat side. Before too long it will swing back to the republican side. And then, guess what. It will swing back again. This will repeat itself over and over until people realize that neither party's wacko policies are a complete work. It's reactionary elections. People voting in response to what they don't like and think a new boss is going to finally cure humanity of it's ills. Oh well

    • President Elect Barack Obama gave an eloquent and dignified speech on the night of his victory. At that moment he became the next leader of all Americans. It's now time to put the campaign behind us, regardless of whom we supported on election day, and support the man who will be our next President. It's time to move on.

    • I believe he (Obama) needs to display “wisdom” and focus on the big 3. One may have to go down and the rise of a green player to replace the fallen may need to be his biggest move! If I was an advisor to President Obama, I would encourage him to not bailout anyone-else (excluding the middle class) and focus on transitioning from the traditional economic giants to investing in the new green giants! One of my own favorite quotes is:

“I happen to deeply agree with the wisdom of Tom Friedman (that we cannot consume of way out of this mess and “Have you ever been to a revolution where nobody gets hurt?”). The fact is that the current economic conditions will cause a lot of companies to close their doors (websites too), and they will die off altogether due to lack of understanding the competitive (innovative) landscape. Just look at Detroit and the Big 3 for example! Those that will fight to stay alive will need to figure out — What’s Next?

I believe that the New Green Economy will include the Rise of Green Real Estate Markets paired with the continued success of Cleantech, Clean Energy Markets, and large scale shifts toward Clean Transportation, and the Greening of the IT Industries (plus a fourth quarter of record investment!!), which will lead to a boom in “American Made” Green Collar Jobs and the creation of new wealth. The trick is: “who will get it right??” Execution makes all the difference for most of these opportunities and green investors need to pay more attention to the items that management claim they can achieve.” - Yeves Perez, Founder of EcoInvestmentClub.com - Nov 2008

    • Look, all those who did not like Obama because of his Ayers association ought to Google mastermind Walter Annenberg who assembled the infamous board where they worked on that socialist thing called early childhood education.

Walter and Leonore were extremely committed philanthropists, largely focused on education, journalism and the power of knowledge. In 1993 they gifted the largest sum ever to improving public education and called it the Annenberg Challenge. The Challenge gave grants to many cities to reform urban schools and curricula. One such city was Chicago. Still scared?

Those who resent sweet deals might look North to the Grrreeaat Staate of Alasssska where Senator Ted Stevens can go back to his wonder home indicted, convicted and re-elected! Wink!

Those who think Obama supporters are airy fairy cult members who think Obama farts rainbows?

Lemme tell you something....I am one of those millions who gave an average of $90 and we are the ones who are awesome and organized! We can and will hold him accountable. We can and will make sure that the promises turns into performance. We trust that he will work hard to listen to you.

      He's your president, too!

I would have given to except I know nothing about him , and when I watched interview after interview of reporters asking everyone " Dems" to name Obama's accomplishments not one person could say anything , not one thing so I must say the jury is still out for me , as far as fartin rainbows go , that I would pay $90.00 to see.
I wouldn't necessarily tell everyone about the money given to Chicago Schools as being a bright spot on his record unless you want to portray it as just spreadin tha wealth as last week the Chicago Sun Times 10/23/08 was freaking out about their schools doing the same as Slovinia and Arminia and other 3rd World countries, so we will keep this on the down low.
Maybe he can get the ACORN homies "they are also awesome"to go in and start changin their grades for them seeing they are pretty good at falsifying papers but lets hope they don't get caught this time " that was a little embarrassing".

    • All those who did not like Obama because he served on several boards with the terrorist William Ayers and got his start politically in Ayers home and distributed millions of dollars at Ayers bequest or got a sweet deal from Rezko on his house only shows you he is not a prejudiced man, he likes white peoples, and just because you had a problem with Rev. Wright who says G'Dam America and whites started aids and honkey this and cracker that, Obama said in 20 years he never heard that and having been to black churches well the singing is so loud I believe him when he said that, and just cause Farrakan and the Black Panthers and Terrorist Khalidi are all for him well they are just tryin to help a brother out , what do you expect so get over it, and just cause he got millions of dollars coming in from overseas from who? well that just saved the american people money , it's not like there are any strings attached"unless you are racist"
and like Chris Matthews said "Obama gives me a tickle up my leg", I am sure there was nothing gay about that as one of the newscasters covering the election "I won't name him but he said he got week in the knees when he spoke to him" and now all our enemies are ready to talk to and congratulate him and this is wonderful since Pelosi and a lot of other Democrats wont let recruiters go to our high schools any more if we get taken over buy a bad country we can talk our way out of it or I did see Harold and Kumar go to Guantanamo and all we have to do is learn to eat a
C MEAT Sandwich, thats better than fightin ain't it.

    • Quite simply, this was the single the most significant sociopolitical moment in my lifetime; more than Nixon resigning in shame; more than the wall falling to mark the end of the Cold War. It has been a long time since I was this proud to be an American. But the real work has just begun for this country. Most importantly, we can't let a bunch of back-asswards people re-write the constitution. Make your voice heard and fight bigotry in the name of equality!!
