Olbermann on Prop. 8

Whatever you believe in the nature vs. nurture argument over homosexuality’s cause, the issue of marriage has been trivialized by many straight couples, while numerous same-sex couples are fighting for their chance to experience the happiness that the true, loving, lasting marriages have the opportunity to feel.

    • I am sorry to say that you are misquoting me. I never mentioned Christianity. Christianity wasn't around 6,000 years ago. All religions forbid Homosexuality, at least prior to the twentieth century. Why do people on here assume everybody who doesn't bye their BS is a crazy Christian? Muslims outlaw it also, they also have marriage, as do every other religion. Marriage is a state of mind as well as a piece of paper, if they pretend their married their halfway there, with the civil union making it legal it shouldn't be any problem.

    • Nobamajon, I'm sorry to say but you're wrong on a point. There was indeed marriage before Christianity ever became ascendant. Christianity meerly adopted it for it's own ceremony and rituals. The joining of a man and a woman, and in some cases two men or two women, have been going on for as long as Humanity as been around.

Homosexuality is not considered a forbidden act in most of the European Union, and America has to catch up with it's progenators in the field of human rights, or else we'll be looked at as a backwards nation of bigoted religeous zelots.

Olbermann is a very charismatic person, which is why I suppose I like him so much. The few times I've seen him speak, he's never faild to dissapoint.

    • Ahh B.S. You cant expect to license and legitimize a forbidden act. That being being same sex marriage. Those were crocodile tears. He has a live in girlfriend, he feels strongly about his in the Tank ratings caused by his video oral sexifacation of Barack Obama for the past two years. Homosexuality is fine, let them go to it. But lets not drag a solemn ceremony maybe 6 thousand years old or better into it. Which originates from religions which forbid it. It is like the Stones putting "Hard Days Night" on a new album and then replying, "The people want it" who cares, its not the stones right to playgerise the Beatles work, just because the people want it. I.E> IT is not the Governments right to take marriage, a religious work and give it to someone breaking the religions laws. COMPREHEND O?

ah, so now you think its acceptable for the government to tell religion what is and isn't acceptable. a true patriot you are.

or are you just confused constantly. do you wake up dizzy? do you have frequent nose-bleeds? do you feel your life is out of control?

maybe you should stop snorting cocaine

    • As good as it gets from Mr. O.
He said what I have been feeling about this horribly unfair and outdated way of thinking.

    • I felt he was on the brink of tears. Keith Olbermann was remarkable for using his special comment on the error that is prop 8. I felt that he spoke for the minorities whether sexual orientation, race, gender. It was an amazing special comment.
