i am aware of many of atrocities to the defenseless & innocent creatures of our earth... but this is outrageous.
"TRADITIONAL"? ARE YOU SERIOUS? A "TRADITION" IS THE MOST SELFISH & DISGRACEFUL EXCUSE USED TO ALLOW A SOCIETY TO ACT AS ANIMAL TERRORISTS.

Are you all retarded city folk? Don't you understand that a fundamental portion of training a horse is "breaking" his spirit? Do you think horses have a natural love for people and want to be ridden by some 300 lb guy?
The Spanish were, I believe, the first and best horse trainers (might have been the Mongols though). Irregardless, This isn't that big of a deal, the people were hurt too. Doesn't that make you happy?
It is a fundamental challenge between man and beast. While I don't feel the need to test my abilities, I don't think it is fair to judge people for something they do. How boring would the world be if everyone was the same. I certainly wouldn't be looking at current, because nothing would ever happen.

People who know what they are doing would never "break" a horse. People who know what they are doing "gentle" a horse.
There is no excuse for abusing animals for entertainment. Why you would attempt to justify such behavior is mystifying.
