Better late then never I suppose but the news coming in has John McCain winning a bitter sweet victory Missouri, the last state to weigh in on the presidential election held two weeks ago. McCain won with 49.4% of the vote compared to 49.3 for Obama bringing the final electoral vote to 173-365.
An interesting tidbit: It is the first time since 1956 that Missouri has chosen the losing presidential candidate. Ohio, another Midwestern state, may now be seen as a better presidential indicator because it voted for Obama and last chose a losing candidate in 1960.

I think we shouldn't focus at McCain here, but rather Missouri. The entire state was red except the densely populated areas: Kansas City, Columbia and St. Louis. Missouri will be a swing state for many presidential elections to come.
