Obama's transition team, seeking to calm the fears of Americans alarmed about jobs, homes and pensions, said yesterday the president-elect wanted Congress to have a two-year economic aid plan of spending and new tax cuts ready for him to enact into law when he takes over from George Bush on January 20.

It's not likely that Obama's cabinet selections will provide any better service to the nation than a random selection of folks in the Nashville Tennessee phone directory.
This guy has already precipitated a Depression by threatening to shut down the national electric power grid returning us all to the Dark Ages.
That was about the stupidest thing I ever saw any politician ever do, but he did it.
Oh, yeah, and he's surrounding himself with people who've either engaged in murder, fostered murder, or think political assassination is a good way to manipulate society.
Not likely that's a safe thing to do, particularly when you're the President. The Jesse James/Howard syndrome was still working last time I heard.

Too many people? Yeah let's bring back eugenics so we can get rid of some of these useless eaters!
I bet if the government and the elite didn't own so much land then we could probably grow more food!
Just a thought.

is the human population just gonna keep growing? does anybody think that maybe things are toppling cause theres way too many of us?? 3 people are born for every 1 that dies. So far, the only thing has kept economies alive is growth. What happens when we run out of room not only economically, but physically?

Actually Puppet Obama is appointing the same looters who got us into this mess in the first place.
Why do you people think that Wall Street funded his presidency? Why did Obama twist the arms of Congresspersons who were against the bailout?
It doesn't take a genious to put two simple facts together.

Sure, typo, but what about the fact that Wall street basically funded Puppet Obama's campaign? Quid pro quo perhaps? Nah couldn't be.

Mass,
I really do not like what is happening anymore than you do, but who was he suppose to pick ?Just try not to be so quick to keep filing contempt prior to investigation. I know that it will get worst before it gets better, but give the man at least a year in office before you ask for his head on a platter.
What other choices do we really have right now ?

Keith what we need to do is fully discredit him as he keeps making wrong move after wrong move.
If we keep explaining all these things away and making excuses for Obama now, then how differently are we than the Bush lovers?
Do we need Obama to make the economy collapse or to launch a war with Iran or Pakistan for us to wake up?

I don't envy Obama the calamities he inherits from GWB.
All I can do is trust in his increasingly impressive administration's judgments and pray like Hell for better things to come. - 3 years ago

I just watched Obama's news conference introducing the "new" economic team. Alot of promises and alot of uncertainty will not help this crisis. Every decision being made now is being passed thru Obama, so don't throw any stones at Bush anymore. It's Obama's baby now and I pray he can handle all of the obstacles he has to face.

If it was Obama's "baby", Paulson wouldn't be sitting on $400 billion of the $700 billion in taxpayer bailout money. He'd be using the money for it's intented purpose. Paulson is sitting by and watching our economy collapse, so he can blame it on Obama. Typical. Bait and switch. Karl Rove is laughing at us all.

Obama is a brilliant politician who can do no wrong. After running a near flawless campaign he is putting together a team the USA can take pride in. The Republicans under Bush drove this country into the ground. We should all be thankful that President Obama has arrived to deliver us from the Republican evil into the Democratic light. It is morning in America. Yes we can.

Obama is NOT! ready to LEAD!
His administration is stacked with Clintons Cronies, and now Hillary! PAH!
Throughout Obama's early debates, Obama criticized Hillary as part of the INSIDE THE BELTWAY ESTABLISHMENT THAT NEEDS TO GO!
What a hypocrite! It is quite obvious now why he has these people in his administration, who's going to be next Bill Clinton.

You mean Clinton era Democrats with experience, don't you?? Let me ask you a question. Who, in your expert opinion, should he have appointed to handle the biggest national emergency since the Depression??? Appointing the smartest people with the most experience certainly is a CHANGE from the Bush era of cronism. You just don't get it. I feel sorry for you.

He's picking the best and the brightest people available. All the neo-cons are screaming, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton equals "no change". They're ridiculous. Who was he supposed to appoint, a college roommate or a buddy from back in the day? It is impossible and irrational to think that Obama can avoid Clinton-era people in his cabinet. We've seen what inexperience party "outsiders" can do. Not much.
