I am not necessarily opposed to hunting even though I don't hunt. However, to kill such a unique and rare creature seems a terrible crime.
Man likes to view himself as superior to all other life on the planet. But make no mistake, only the thinnest layer of civilization separates most folks from the primal savagery of our ancestors. The BillyBob who shot this beautiful creature is evidence of it. He doesn't seem to have a slightest amount of remorse for killing what might be the only white buck in the nation or maybe even the world. Idiot.

funny how hunters of animals are praised if they use the whole animal, but murderers who who eat their victims are disparaged more than anyone.

Whatever excuse you have for hunting and killing wild animals in this 21 century, you are still a predator who like any religious idiot thinks God put these animals on earth to be disposed of, by the human species is out of his cotton pickin head. Animals have as much or maybe even more right to life than any barbarian human.

I eat meat, but there is something repulsive about hunting. There is no beauty or sport in shooting an animal. It is an ugly thing. To think this creep will have the animal stuffed and mounted is just disgusting. Why would anyone take such pride in the slaughter of another creature?

Why don't these "hunters" learn to do something worthwhile & creative like paint a picture or go skate or maybe they can make sandwiches and burritos for homeless people.
Is killing animals really what brings them joy?
I find that hard to believe...
They just never took the time to learn to do anything worth a damn.

Exactly, and if it's the thrill of the hunt they want, buy a nice fucking camera, get all decked out in the camo, go hike in, sneak up on "bambi" take a picture, frame it. TA DA! TROPHY!

A shame he killed it, better use the whole animal, not stuff it and let it "roam" his living room. Why kill an animal and not use it? Taxidermy is the dumbest shit ever. I bet he had scent blocker, full camo, and was just about invisible to the poor deer. Where's the challenge? The last time I went hunting was years ago, we were dressed in plain clothes, spent the night before doing a prayer ceremony, woke up at 5 and started hiking. I had a bow, like primitive style not all fancy compound bow. As respect to the animal you eat the liver right after you get a kill. I have no problem with hunting when its used for food, all of it. It's also a bad omen to kill the rare white deer.

"Wow, what's that! I've never seen a white deer like that before!..... Let's kill it"
Just like when kids find something weird and rare and want to kill it. Don't people ever maybe think about not killing something rare like that?
Why not take a picture of it?

Lets not forget people, that these deer could just as easily be hunted by some other type of predator. Everyone likes to eat them see? Animals like coyotes, wolves, mountain lions, hillbillys, maybe even bears. Deer are kind of used to being hunted. Its called natural selection. Would it be better for thousands of deer to run free thru the woods, suburbs, cities? Besides, hunting an animal in its habitat is far more humane than caging rows and rows of animals who have absolutely no fight in them and killing them for their meat.

I think it is better to kill and only eat what you kill.
I'm a veggie for more than 20 years but I have close friends who hunt for meat and I really don't have a problem with that.
But come on.....if you see something rare and beautiful why the fuck would you kill it?
Those fat hicks were not starving just assholes with no common sense.
They wanted to share the deer? By removing it's already rare genes from existence. To make it even more rare?
Giant hillbilly Fail.
These actually seem like nice guys but clearly are dumb as shit.

I hate trophy hunters! They are the least likely to use anything besides the head for mounting. They just have a lust for killing... not for the meat.
I see this as purposely killing off the biggest and the best of the gene pool. It's sad, especially when it's a rarity like this that is plucked from the pool.

Lord, I was married to a hunter and have hunted myself. What is wrong with killing your own meat? Are you more moral or somehow a better person if you allow others to do it for you? And if you are a vegitarian or vegan, again, are you a better person becuse you displace billions of animals to grow your corn?
This is hunting, harvesting, eating, not murder. And just because it was born white, does not make it any different.
Now granted, though I have hunted, I could never kill a deer myself, but I have no problems with eating one someone else killed. This is as normal and as human as sitting down to eat at McDonalds...

Silly, though they may keep its head as a trophy, hunters kill for the meat. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If this was a regular deer, no one would care. But suddenly, because it has a genetic disorder, they are cruel, stupid, and inhumane. That is just silly.
And yes, billions of animals are displaced for food crops, as well as housing. Just because you do not eat meat, you are still harming animals. It is a fact of human existence... we displace animals. Deal with it.
And what is this about a puppy? If it was a human, it would be bad, If it was a puppy, it would be bad. If it was the Queen of England, it would be bad. But these men were in the woods hunting deer for sport and meat. It is no big deal! They were not hunting puppies, and they did not kill a puppy!
When the white man came to this continent, there was only an estimated 1 million deer here. Now, because of land clearing and the hunting of their natural predators, there are perhaps a 100 million of them. They are a well managed natural resource. They are taken care of my entire local, state, and national governments soley for the purpose of hunting and meat harvesting. It is as human as raising cattle or corn.
There is nothing wrong with this!

This is what I would like to do: have Mr Furrer hang out in a small forest while I sneak around with a large rifle, looking at him through a scope. Then, while he's chewing on a piece of grass as a snack or eating his sandwich, *BAM* - he'll never know what hit him.
I wonder how he would feel if he got shot in the back and died for doing nothing at all except enjoying life.

I hope that there are other universes where justice is a rule of law.and one where we go when we die. There must be justice some where in the universe besides from this religious BS. And if so I hope that these barbarians who shoot and kill innocent creatures on this earth and call it sport will one day be the victims of such sport. Newtons third theory is that there must be an equal and oposite reaction to justify the laws of physics and if that is so then this law will guarantee justice for as human beings we too are subject to Newtons laws too. Because our ancestors hunted and killed animals for nourishment is no excuse to continue this practice today simply because it is tradition. what we see in this world today is mass killing whether with continous war or sport is just proof that the human being is still a common viscious animal himself/herself without an intelligence capable of coming face to face with an extra terrestrial with a simple or super intelligence. Humanity is a disgrace

I'm not sure what the big deal is? It's not like dozens of these are shot around the country every year. Yes they are rare, but by no means endangered. Albinism is a genetic disorder. This is just a regular deer. More of them will be born. Chill out.

as long as he uses everything from the animal i'm semi-ok with hunting. the fact that he was bow hunting helps a little. although i guess it's worse for the deer...i don't consider "hunting" much of a sport.
you walk around in the woods, or sit in trees, set bait and traps for the animal, then go shoot it. honestly? sport? if you're using like a knife or bow and arrow you crafted yourself, i'll give you some cred. but its gotta be fore survival, honestly, if you don't use the whole thing whats the point.
