    • TEN YEARS!! The amount of forests decimated in one weeks is astronomical given all the mechanical plant used but to what aims?

      Ethanol, for the motor industry.

      What happens in ten years time if the motor industry finally develop a car that needs none of the fuels being produced today by ravaging the earths resources

      Back to square one then?

    • Only half and over a ten year period?!
      They need to stop entirely and send top Botanists / Natives in to find the plants that the shamen / tribes used. That is if they haven't already been destroyed. Then we use thes great plants.
      Personally I believe that cures to many of our problems exist with plants and if you destroy all these plants then you have no cure, for say ... cancer and whatnot.

    • That's not what it says, dankitti - Brazil will cut by half the amount of forest it destroys, which does not mean that it will destroy half the rainforest.
