The CEO s of the big three auto makers are finding many skeptics in congress. This is after a two week break in talks over a now potential $15 billion bailout. Members of Congress in general are fatigued after much deliberation over the country's economic downturn. Would taxpayers be giving money to losers? Or really bailing out companies that have just come on rough times? It's obviously not that simple, but a decision--and lots of oversight--needs to be set.

    • This is such a tough call. Maybe we should call Senator McCain back off the campaign trail to figure it out for us and provide the leadership that we need! I know, it's not nice to gloat that my candidate won...sometimes I can't help myself.
It is a tough call though. That's a lot of money to give to a bunch of guys that so far have been able to turn billion dollar companies into failures. However, the same can be said about the Wall street banking, mortgage and insurance industries that we threw gobs of money at and as yet have not appointed a chairman for the oversight committee. How stupid are we? The money is all ready gone, how can we oversee what isn't there anymore? Talk about getting the cart before the horse.
I don't know that we can let the auto industry fail though. Too many jobs from a number of markets would be lost; not just the auto makers themselves but their suppliers as well.
The fan keeps spinning and the shit keeps hitting it!!!

    • Why are they being so hard on the big three and throwing money at Wallstreet with no oversight??? Why no oversight? They haven't hired anyone to do that just yet! White collar vs Blue collar. How the rules are applied depends on who you are!
