    • To answer an earlier post, no, I am not going to admit that he was never funny. He was very good on "Saturday Night Live," and the book he did on his Stuart character was hysterical. The movie was rather amusing, too.

His work since then has not been up to the same standard, and there have been times that he has bombed on a joke here and there. Maybe that is because he is concentrating on other things than just humour nowadays.

I have read Al Franken's other books, as I have read the works of Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter, and it is true that he does not get off the zingers and funny lines as often as they do. On the other hand, his writing is a little more well-reasoned and rational than theirs, and he is a lot less mean-spirited.

Therefore, I stand by saying that he has a sense of humour and that he will be an asset in Congress.

    • I hope he wins, Al has intelligence and integrity. Ya'll just hate him cause he calls out your boys Rush and O'lylie, but he backs up all his claims with facts, something your boys can't do.

sorry pal, i dont listen to rush. anyway, any person who isn't a completely biased partisan can see the guy is overzealous. as someone else already commented, he will keep counting until he wins. as for truth, everyone has their own reality to contend with. proving Rush wrong is a joke, neither of these characters are based in reality. Franken will look great attending white house events in his satellite dish helmet.

    • Al Frankin will try anything to win, although he is a buffoon, he is a dangerous buffoon. He is a Wacko zealot who plans to keep on counting until he wins.

    • Saxbe Chambliss already prevented that while he gave Miss $100,000 Dress Palin the Lime Light.

He already knew he was going to win. He just had to give Caribou Barbie a 'soap box' and a 'photo op' moment!

    • I agree! There's no way the Republicans would EVER give Reid THAT much power!

Remember when Pelosi shut off the lights on them?

    • There was no way they were gonna let Franken win! And risk having a 'filibuster proof' Democratic Senate?

That would have given Harry Reid too much power!

    • This one is going right down to the wire. Good luck to Al. If he wins, a sense of humour will be an asset in Congress.
