Rod Blagojevich said the bank would lose out on hundreds of millions of dollars in fees and commission.
About 200 workers have been occupying Republic Windows and Doors demanding severance pay since they were laid off with only three days notice.
Their employer blames Bank of America for cutting off their credit line.
The bank said it was "reaching out to the management and ownership of the company to see what they can do to help resolve the issue".
It added that it had provided the maximum amount of funding it could under the terms of its agreement with the company.
Plan rejected
Workers said they were entitled to be given 60 days notice of the closure of the plant and demanded pay for that period as well as any unused vacation time.
President-Elect Obama has said Bank of America needs to give some of that 15 BILLION they received and help people instead of holding on to it.
***I think when we gave these banks all these bailouts, we failed to put into writing what they could and could not do...was it stupidity? Or, simply a new endeavor and government lost common sense"> What do you think?

OOPS!!! Do-Over.
The Ilinoiss Governor, Rod Blagojevich , was just arrested for trying to buy Obama's Senate Seat. So I doubt he will be able to help these poor workers.
I guess there is a Lieutenant Governor who will step in to run things.
GEEZ, a taping of a conversation where the man tries to BUY the Senate seat from Obama. I hope and pray Obama is not involved.
We may have to run this country by ourselves...Bailouts for all citizens making less than $75,000 a year! That is my first act (in my dreams)

The workers occupation of the business is way cool. It is about time workers are recognized and listened too. All the union busting by Republicans and big business has made life much harder for the average Joe.

They aren't "entitled" to 60 day notice, I believe it is a federal law from what I heard earlier this morning on the news. The news also said that BofA said the company should do what they are suppose to and pay these people.
I think the company tried to close on the sly and hope that nothing would come of it. ????

The article also stated that... The bank said it was "reaching out to the management and ownership of the company to see what they can do to help resolve the issue".
It sounds like [to me] the ownership and management of this company are not doing enough to help the bank help themselves. It have to be 'a win-win solution'. Maybe this is an issue of "Interests" (financially speaking).

Bank of America did not want to hand out another bad loan to a company that was going under. We will see much more of this I am afraid. Now look where the Governor is today...in Federal lockup!
