Why does all this horrible stuff happen in the deep south? Is it the heat or the humidity? It seems the farther south you go in the USA, the more ignorant and barbaric the people get.

Contrary to what you’ve been programmed to believe Florida is predominately made up of transplant northerners. You should probably keep that in mind since doing so would help combat the scourge of ignorance, which you’ve somehow classified as a side effect of living in a semi tropic environment. If anything the internet would be the de facto capital of ignorance.
Then again what do I know? It was 80 degrees today so all that good weather must be having an adverse effect on my mind.

I read this article in the newspaper and it made me cringe. One boy was put in a dryer and died. There is an eye witness to this. Why is this place still open.? It wasn't a reform school, it was a torture chamber.

understandable - and that is a good point as well, a good story to stay on top of.
I'm sure something will come up by the read of it - I also don't think a story ON CNN would just be for show.
There's enough craziness going on in the world.

I agree with alicynx. Until the graves are examined and evidence gathered we don't know what we're looking at.
The former inmates are all older men now. I doubt they bring this charge just to make a media splash. One grows out of that sort of thing.
These men were teenagers when this happened to them; and inmates. I believe them when they describe kids that disappeared. Just because I can't think of a logical explanation doesn't mean there isn't one.
But these men were absolutely right to ask for an investigation. I find it hard to fathom that we have a graveyard & nobody seems to know who's in it. That's big time weird.
I too hope we learn what happened. If it turns out there are the remains from teenagers in these graves then I expect the whole country will know.

I think this reporter is getting ahead of himself here. They don't even know if there are any graves out there at all!
"no one can say for certain who, if anyone, is buried in the 32 graves"
Perhaps we shouldn't put the cart before the horse here and wait until we have more information about the recovery? Then again, it will probably be SO last week when they finally do have any solid info, and people will have totally moved on by then...

Wow. If they find the bodies there I hope that they catch those responsible for the killings (however old they are now).
