A neo-Nazi couple are in custody in connection with the near-fatal stabbing of a Bavarian police chief.

An arrest warrant was issued against Sabrina (22) and her husband Manuel H yesterday. (33) Police believe they assisted in the attempted murder of the Passau chief of police Alois Mannichl (52) on Saturday. The pair were originally just brought in for questioning but are now seen as “possible participants” in the crime.

Mannichl was stabbed on his own doorstep in the small town of Furstenzell when he unwittingly opened his front door to a skinhead man, who plunged a knife in his chest. The married couple are said to have been seen in Furstenzell, 135km from Munich, on the day of the crime, talking in a car with two other men.

According to police reports, Sabrina H. was seen near the crime scene accompanied by a skinhead man who fits the description of the attacker: About 25-30 years old, bald, 190cm tall and with a huge tattoo on his neck, which could also be a birthmark.
