Two million crowd members, no arrests

So proud of my country on this day!!

We actualy put our money where our mouths are and gave peace a chance.

Wow that is a feat to say the least!!! I lived in the heart of D.C. for years and to get that many people into that place unharmed and not p.o.ed is pretty miraculous to say the least... I am surprised no one got arrested for at least accidentally running someone over with the atrocious way traffic patterns are structured in the square. Everyone would have needed to be exceedingly chill.

Well, I missed the entire thing because my school, a PUBLIC school, said that finals, which we are taking all this week, are too important to be interupted. So pretty much I was FORCED to miss out on an important part of history.

I cant wait to tell my Grandkids that Grandma couldn't watch one of the most important events of the history of the United States Of America because public schooling gives you no rights what-so-ever. So I would tell you what a historic and memorable that day was, but I didnt see it in real time and have pretty much no memory of its value anymore.

but then again that doesn't mean people weren't doing anything wrong, they just didn't get caught.

Maybe.. juuuuuuust maybe there is still hope in humanity

No would be stupid enough to step out of line. The security on that was tight and I mean VERY VERY VERY times 100 tight. Why would anyone want to step out of line with so much police? Plus it was friendly atmosphere.

that's change already! 2 million ppl gather and then no one steps out of line or does anything bad. Usually people can't even behave themselves at a baseball game! I hope Obama can change not only the policies and governmental stuff, but also the attitudes of the American people

A long overdue celebration for Americans, as well as the rest of the world. Peace & hope filled this day while an orderly change of leadership brought together a collective, positive energy missing from so many people's lives for too long.

The change is the new world order coming into view.

Maybe all the police were so happy and enthralled by Obama that they were really laissez-faire about stopping crime that day.

"Officer! That man stole my bag! Stop him!"
"Come aaaaaahn, lady! Today's a day for celebrating. Lighten up!"

What a difference, whenever Bush went there was always riots and people arrested. Even in a small conference with 20 people, people end up trowing their shoes ended arrested.

Woot! I guess everybody was too cold to fight, haha.

It's a beautiful thing to see a large group of happy people standing together like that. Even if there were arrest on this day, there were obviously very few.

On a more pessimistic note, I can easily visualize the same amount of people angrily protesting if these bail outs don't work.

Not saying it's going to happen. I'm just a little bit wary right now. It all looks good on the surface doesn't it?

Im proud to be American

January 20, 2009 was an incredible day, where people in America and around the world celebrated without any violence or anger or confusion...it was a great day where we as Americans showed the world that we are capable of peace and intelligence and the hope for a brighter future is now stronger for all people...

If that report is correct, that is the most amazing thing I have heard in a long time. Change indeed!
