Obama; gun salesman of the year!

Image
1percent
In a time when the economy is in shambles, Sales of everything are down except for guns and ammo.

Gun sales have increased over 100% since last year. And supply cannot keep up with demand.

Many attribute this to a largely Democratic controlled Congress as well as the newly elected president.

What do you think the is causing the skyrocketing of weapons sales?

Panic buying? Constitutional infringement? Gun Bans? Economic disaster?

Please comment and discuss.

    • It is only fitting that gun nuts would stock up like this. Our right to bear arms is under attack, but this has absolutly nothing to do with Obama or congress.

Does any one remember during the Katrina frenzy when the national guard armed themselves and went door to door telling people to give them all their guns and ammunition or they would be arrested? Martal Law has already been tested and gun owners are pussies, so ofcourse they gave up their guns....

It will be a sad day when the American military is shooting to kill us, but its well on its way. They will always have a bigger gun and a world of ammunition provided by you tax dollar!

    • What a stupid headline for this article. I don't know what the cause is but it's ignorant to say Obama has anything to do with gun sales.

    • Well I guess it has started already blamming Obama for everything,as he is all omnipitant. The current gun craze is caused by the medias constant harping "the sky is falling".People are frightened and further scaring themselves by watching talking heads on TV predicting the end of the world and the "worst economic downtrend since the great depression", This is GREAT for advertising and boosting anxiety. So instead of learning the fgacts and what the real situation is and what we can do to improve things hell lets just go out and pick up a shiney new Smith and Wesson. We may not be brave enough to face our problems and fix them but we sure as hell will feel powerful with our phallic replacement.

    • Ban Guns. Then we'll just have to worry about Knifes. Maybe Grenades-Snakes, too. People will be desperate. Like T.I., he'll be packin' Black Mamba's fow Show.

Obviously these gun sales are driven by a fear that he will fail to recognize the second amendment rights of Americans. His Attorney General nominee argued before the Supreme Court that the second amendment did not apply to citizens.

    • I was raised with guns so its hard for me to relate with those who weren't.

Maybe they will ban weapons in cities where it is obviouse most of the problem is.

Out here in the sticks people stick with shotguns and rifles more so than uzi's.

Alot of people can't handle the responsibilty of owning a weapon. None of my neighbors know of my arsenal because I don't flaunt it.

The people I have met here that have moved from vegas or chicago don't need nothing stronger than a BB gun.

    • A fool and his gun are soon parted.

I don't need a gun to protect myself, I don't really have it in me to take another person's life(unless it comes down to self-preservation or saving my family from certian death). I will take up arms if the occasion arises and in the defense of freedom.

The love affair many Americans have with guns is not something to be applauded, but the need for citizens to be armed in times of civil unrest is a necessity. We are the last lines of defense in our civil rights, and there may be an occasion where a Second American Revolution needs to happen. That is the only acceptable time those guns will be needed.

and in times of civil unrest.... shit man by that times its way to late.

I don't fear my neighbors coming to kill me more than I fear the government coming to kill me. So until the second revolution looks like it's going to start I don't need a gun...

...And I'm pretty sure that I'll still be able to get a gun and bullets from somewhere other than Wal-Mart by then.

I think you're coming off a bit paraniod talking about the non-descript bad guy, however it's understandable to have some sort of protection living a few miles away from your nearest neighbor.

yeah thats part of it for me although I had one back when i lived in vegas too. I also live a far distance from any police station and it could take 30 minutes or more for a cop to get to me and thats in good driving conditions.

pathetic act of desperation? I dont know about that. how would you defend yourself and your family in times of trouble? dont you think its important to be able to defend your loved ones? I guess soem folks see things differantly than others. I have been around guns my whole life. I cant understand how someone wouldn't want to be able to defend themselves. I live in the sticks. if someone was breaking into my home it could take 30 minutes or more for a cop to show up. by that time my wife and i could be dead.

9-1-1 GOV sponsered dial-a-prayer...a gun in your hand is better than a cop on the phone.

you said it all in that statement...you have been conditioned to loathe guns. there is nothing to fear from a gun. a bouncer at a club ion vegas i used to go to all the time when i lived there is doing 40 to life for killing his wife, not with a gun but a iron. anything can kill. a gun can protect.

    • Economic disaster? Don't take it sitting down. Upstanding citizens like us work hard for our money and it's people like us that are feeling the same financial crunch that everyone else is.

There is no reason for us to be at risk.

Experts say the looming economic disaster will cause a spike in crime rates.

With the economy on it's way down and unemployment on the way up that can only mean one thing. More crime.

With less money to go around people get desperate. It's sad to say but it's true. And yes you could be affected. But there is a way out...

no only do i expect it I am prepared for it. I could survive a year with never leaving my farm. could you? if not what would you do. People in the south east prepare for hurricanes people in the midwest prepare for tornados people in the north prepare for a harsh winter at least the smart ones do. these things may or may not come to those areas. I am no differant. I am prepared for whatever comes my way, or at least as prepared as i can be. the 6 P's Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance, in times of trouble.

I don't live on a farm. But we have made already storage of food for we expect that food shortage might arrive soon. You say "I am prepared for whatever comes my way" - what does it mean? Do you have any purpose in your life or do you say it only by your instinct for survival? I myself don't see any real sense in all the world happening, only in the view of following Jesus who is my savior and who cleansed me from my sins, him I trust and by this I believe that I will spend my eternity with him in heaven.

thats all fine well and good. I too believe in god. I am a luthern. But that doesnt mean that i wont be prepared. what the heck do you mean by, "do i have a purpose in life" I work, I pay my bills, I have a good time when i can. How long can you survive on the food you have stored. do you have water. how will you defend your food when someone without food comes and wants it. if you live in a city this is a real possibility.

    • Ihatethemall:

That's surely a reasonable point but you know if you consider that there might come anyway a bombarder or so then any storage is in vain.. therefore I take it easy - either it will be possible to make use of the storage that can last for several months I suppose or there will be anyway a totally different happening. And definitely I would not defend myself with a gun because I keep the commandment: don't kill, don't fornicate - both I have kept till now and feel in peace by doing so. And to your being a lutheran - a membership means nothing, only what is in the heart counts.

I live in the middle of nowhere. if I am bombed then so be it. they would have to be aiming for MY HOUSE. theres nothing else around. I am sure when and if the time comes there will be enough for them to do in the cities. as far as whats in my heart thats my worry not yours. as far as not killing. it is justified in some instances and protecting family is one of them. If you choose not to kill to protect family. I suppose thats your choice, however poor of a choice it may be. I wouldnt even think twice about putting a bullet into someone to protect my wife. it wouldnt even faze me, i would do it as easily as I did to the hog i slaughtered last weekend, and the cow i did this weekend.

I live on a farm....its a fact of life for us.....do you eat meat. where do you think it comes from. I can assure you this. as a trucker I have been in many slaughter houses. the animals are treated very bad there. I love my animals and I treat them very good. they are taken care of and get the best foods and health care i can give them. they are kept indoors when its cold and when it comes time to slaughter them i do it as humanely and as quickly as possible.

what i mean by that is i wouldnt hesitate to do whatever is neccassary of me to protect my wife from someone who wants do do her harm. It also wouldn't bother me to do whatever is neccassry to protect her. if it was her or some scumbag...for me the choice is clear and easy. I find it hard to believe most other folks dont feel the same.

Ihatethemall, so then you can be totally at ease if you have such concepts. By the way with my pointing to the fact that only what is in your heart counts I meant to u n d e r l i n e that even though you claim to be a christian it doesn't mean a u t o m a t i c a l l y that you are saved or have reserved a place in heaven, that's a nonsense. It depends how sincere and upright you are, so not the outwards counts. Whereas I have to say that it cannot be as well that it would be all right insight and you could not realize by the outwards things.

How bare words I hear here from you farmer. You think you are justified because you are lutheran. If you believe in Jesus why do you have to be stupid lutheran? Tell me please. Do you think in heaven there is a lutheran section? Nonsense. Jesus said when Peter took his sword at Getshemane: "put back your sword because whoever takes a sword must be killed by the sword" - if you had not read this part in your lutheran bible, make a research and believe what he says. You would kill someone because he is against your wife. And you are protected because you live in a farm and have food storage. Take my word and remember if it will take place that on your field the tanks will go to reach the city and kill you and both you and your wife no matter how well you are backed up. You can have guns, they have missiles and tanks. And if you have a gun and you use it you can be sure you don't endure the eternal judgment. I personally don't want to meet a man slayer in heaven and I think god does not want either. You are concerned about your life on earth but when a women speaks to your heart about heavenly things you reject it. You should test yourself where your treasure is, in heaven or on the earth. Best wishes for further arguments of you.

Lirybka, according to the picture looks like a woman, whom you rejected. If you don't see she is a female maybe you need a dr. About the lutheran stupidity, I care not, you could be baptist or charismatic or, evangelic, does not matter I would call you stupid, and god would call you fool. So if he does that cant be childish. Bye the way, you could not simply react on my statements about murder, heaven etc. Maybe you need a dr.

Democrats have already restricted and taxed bullets and have bills on the table to make sporting .22's and shotgun classified as assault weapons.

This worked really well in Poland and Germany. Registration and restricting have historically been the pre requesite for confiscation.

Wake up America! You can spout off all you want, but when the wolf blows down your door, you will beg us that legally own and serve to save you sorry asses one more time. Learn history and you'll know.

    • It's because too many conservatives believe the bullshit lies that were spouted in the NRA's anti-Obama ad campaign, stating that Obama wants to take their guns away. As Joe Biden (who is a gun-owner himself) pointed out, Obama wants nothing of the sort.

Google "NRA anti-Obama Ads" to find out more, and to see the original ads that caused this hoopla.
