Well this is just swell. Not only do we take US companies and jobs overseas, our Bailout dough is paying to invest OVERSEAS. What do we do now? Move to Brazil?

SAO PAULO -- General Motors plans to invest $1 billion in Brazil to avoid the kind of problems the U.S. automaker is facing in its home market, said the beleaguered car maker.

According to the president of GM Brazil-Mercosur, Jaime Ardila, the funding will come from the package of financial aid that the manufacturer will receive from the U.S. government and will be used to "complete the renovation of the line of products up to 2012."

"It wouldn't be logical to withdraw the investment from where we're growing, and our goal is to protect investments in emerging markets," he said in a statement published by the business daily Gazeta Mercantil.

    • The Republicans, especially McCain, took the 'buy American' out of the Stimulus Package. They have been good at shipping work overseas all the while they wave the American flag.

    • this company should be tried for treason.
just another reason the people need to take
the country back.any american company operating overseas for a bigger profet. should have tarrifs.
put on all goods making it impossible to sell
them in the us.the only reason they go overseas is
for profet .our goverment sold us out by letting this
      happen

    • What about the so called spend and “BUY AMERICA”, evidently the American Government did not plan for such actions from these WHITE CORPORATIONS, who keep profiting and when they need a bailout the stupid American Government allows such actions with its’ people’s money. Obama was part of this deal and he should think twice before giving billions of dollars away, and these companies continue to grow and be 1000% profitable.

    • and this is exactly why we shouldnt be passing any of these "bailouts". obviously these huge corporations are taking our money and running, how far do we let this go before we, the American people, get up and protest? We probably will, after all the companies have "bailed out" to other countries, with our money.

    • This is obscene. We need a "war on disinformation"! If media talking heads spin, they should be held accountable. Their disinformation campaign is hurting us in so many ways.

It really is time for change. Any way they spin it, $1,000,000,000.00 of our tax dollars going to Brazil to stimulate jobs outside America should not happen. General Motors should be face additional taxes for outsourcing jobs, not given our money to do it.

Union Workers at General Motors were asked to give up benefits for the stimulus to help them, while General Motors can get $1,000,000,000.00 to invest in Brazil. Something is wrong with this picture!

    • You would thing both the gov and GM would do a better job if for no other reason than public relations.

If they are going to screw us over the least they can do is turn out the lights so nobody can see.
