Dog beaten during burglary dies; reward now $10,000

Suzi, the Shih Tzu mix maliciously beaten during a burglary earlier this week, has died and the reward for her attackers' capture has doubled to $10,000.
The pet's owners said the 8-year-old dog's condition was serious with no prospect of recovery after three days of treatment.
The 5-pound lap dog suffered massive neck and head injuries after being struck and kicked by the burglars who broke inside the Morse Street home Monday afternoon in Akron.
The family made the decision to euthanize Suzi this afternoon after receiving a second opinion from a veterinarian, said Sherri Buck, the pet owners' daughter

We all know that Ohio has some of the most pathetic animal abuse laws in the country. Legislators keep ignoring requests to imprA while back, at a Christmas dinner, I sat next to a guy who is friends with the sickos who abused pigs at Wiles Pig Farm in Creston. We got into a discussion about it (me being a vegetarian). Those friends told him, it's no big deal, they are only pigs. I did a slow burn and set him straight! Unfortunately, I doubt that any ongoing "watching" is happening at that farm.
One can only hope that the monsters who killed Suzi are caught and dealt with harshly, but I doubt that will happen on the animal killing charge. Pathetic OHIO! Shame on our legislators!
I, for one, would love to be put in a room with the person(s) who killed Suzi, just give me some time and some steel-toed boots to kick the c**p out of them. I hope someone who knows who did it comes forward, not for the money so much, for the justice for that little creature.
