Aircraft Noise Raises Blood Pressure

Image

Night-time noise from aircraft or traffic can increase a person's blood pressure even if it does not wake them, according to a new study published in the European Heart Journal. Scientists from Imperial College London and other European institutions monitored 140 sleeping volunteers in their homes near London Heathrow and three other major European airports.

    • Yes it does raise blood pressue and so does any infrasound type noise. Some sensitive people feel the infrasound. By the time you feel it, it is harming your physical body. If it intense enough, really intense, it can kill you.
The thinner you are the more you are likely to be aware of it.
I know about waking up with the jet airplanes flying low as I lived in an area of a base once........

    • I personally have been waked by aircraft noise while in deep sleep and my heart was racing afterwards. It was not a very pleasant state of being and that can last for many hours. Then you start to think when is going to happen that final blow that will claim your own life. What I know as a broadcaster journalist is that no one resolve issues by covering it up from the general public. Each person of the Media have a duty to be alert to report on issues that affects human life. Please do not hold blood in your hands, pass this news to as many people as you possible can.

    • It is mainly due to frequency response..the resonance of the plane works as a tuning fork on our systems and so causes us to involuntarily respond...
