Illinois Democrat proposes law requiring gun owners have one million dollars insurance

ILLINOIS, The land of obama and Blago have now produced a democrat that thinks gun owners should have a 1,000,000 dollar insurance policy. If you don't have the policy the police will be able to come to the registered gun owners who have the Illinois Firearms card and sieze your firearms card, thus making it illegal to own the guns who already have. This is why we shouldn't have to register the guns in the first place. They have already made it pretty hard to get ammo. I called 4 differant stores today looking to buy more ammo and all 4 were out. All but 3 told me they weren't informed as to when they were getting any more in. 1 actually told me that the shipments are being held up at the ports. I talked to Cabelas, The Shooters guide, Natchez shooters and Cheaper than Dirt. Only Cabelas is expecting more ammo in. Between making ammo hard to get and million dollar insurance policies, the democrats don't have to make guns illegal, all they need to do is make owning them next to impossible. Clinging to my guns and all the ammo I have.

    • Here we go. Can't legally get rid of the second amendment, so let's see how many obsticles we can put in place. I'm sure the gang-banger thug life criminals in Chicago are really going to get insurance.

The good people of Iraq, Beirut, Lebanon, Afghanistan..etc etc, are armed to the teeth with fully automatic weapons , rpg's, frags and so forth...so tell me guys... how's that working for them? A bunch of numb nuts running around here in militias pretending to be soldiers and vigilantes doesn't make any of us any safer...my deceased father who was a career policeman, pleaded with me to not buy a gun for "family protection" because....not just that I could possibly shoot a member of my family accidentally ....but rather because 99% of the guns that criminals are in possession of come from home burglaries...when you leave your house to go to work..so do they! In other words the "honest, law abiding citizens" that you guys so often speak of are arming the criminals...they certainly don't go through the background checks etc... noooo....YOU do that for them...use you brains for a moment and get a grip on reality..you guys are a major part OF the problem...not the solution.

      Gun owners are far less likely to commit a crime than the average citizen. You should be concerned with criminals, not law abiding citizens. Your angst is misdirected. Guns save lives and avert murders and other violent crimes and this outweighs the so called benefit of leaving only the criminals armed by disarming the people with the right to own guns.

    • you would be right if it weren't for the fact that this july- govnment will begin barcoding ammo as a means of tracking a restricting who has access to it, also adding prohibitive taxes onto it

      well it would be the flyers that are being posted in all the pawn shops, but even so i don't need proof that the govnment wants to disarm people, I KNOW they do, they have been passing laws that skirt gun rights since ive been alive (45 years).You are naive if you think that marxist democrats in government aren't working toward a society where they control everything. In light of the recent talking of passing the fairness doctrine, they also want to shut up their critics and do away with free speach also.These people hold utter contempt for the constitution and the idea of freedom.

      They just tell you they're gonna EVEN the playing field to make you feel like your gettin even with someone for being successful ---what they mean by this is that they're going to bring everyone down and make everyone the same.
      They're not going to let anyone succeed(except themselves of course).Dont fall for this--it is the way they make everyone DEPENDENT on them, this is the way they guarantee themselves to always be in power.

      this proposed law will not pass. this is pure paranoid conspiracy from those who spread the conspiracies (NRA) about president obama banning all ammunition. the reason ammunition is hard to get is that all the other paranoid and brainwashed people are buying it as fast as they can.

      thanks for supporting the economy. and i'm glad you'll have a surplus of guns and ammo to protect yourselves in case you need it.

      i am an avid gun owner. i own several guns and don't intend to give them up; however, america as a country will never allow such restrictions to be placed on our civil liberties, nor will our constitutional lawyer president.

      Stick to your arms and buy ammo via UPS. Not sure laws between states, but they ship it readily.

      This is ludicrous, I also encourage anyone who wants a black gun, hi-cap, or AR derivitive to buy one now. Who knows when this will go to the next level of enforcement and it could be during dire times of Depression/Recession. Protect yourselves and your family as the Founding Fathers had intended.
