CNN's Paul Begala poses an interesting idea; If a senator or governor (as is the case with So. Carolina) believes President Obama's economic stimulus proposal is a horrible idea they should just refuse the funds when the checks are cut. If our elected officials are truly representatives of the people than refusing the money coming to their state should bare no consequences from their supporters. If just under half the country is represented by republicans, and just about all of them refute the money, than that makes a nearly $800 billion government bailout more like $400 billion. Maybe that is closer to something they can stomach.

The thing that sucks about this bill.....people who were smart and saved money in these things called savings accounts... there money will be devalued. I didn't want this to happen, but now that it has I'll take the money of course I'm not retarded. Also I'm pretty sure every home in the nation is going to have a 42 inch plasma now.

Mr. Begala - That's too far from hypocrisy, please do not suggest such an idea ever again.

"..and we will just pass it out to all but you who don't want it, how's that?"
Uh, yeah, kinda like if your mom was passing out brownies and not everyone wanted one. You can call him assclown all you want but this is a valid point. Taking the money after such opposition is a bit hypocritical.

So what you are saying is that republicans are either stupid or hypocritical.

Brilliant idea. It will flesh out the hypocrisy of certain persons and parties.

And so you'll fell vindicated while the entire financial and economic system collapses around you? Frankly, the reality is that both of these parties and a whole lot of people in power are leading you down a path of ruin . . . especially the asshole whose goofy mug and goofier ideas are the basis or this thread. The sooner you wake up to that fact, the better.

Stop withholding taxes and I'll gladly forgo participation in this scam. What is funny is that you people still think the government can stimulate the economy. Nothing is going to save you from what's coming. NOTHING.

Yes as a matter of fact Hell yes! Let them tell their constituency to pull themselves up by their bootstraps...isn't that what the wealthy always preach to the poor...it's the fastest way I know of to assure that they will be voted out of office and finally get people who are willing to work with the President to get us out of this Republican nightmare that the "trickle down" theory has visited on us.

Classic...ty for yet again demonstrating how you violate your own stated code of behavior.
The point here is "to thine own self be true." Without that, you are pretty much without credibility.

No, I'm pretty sure that cybexg is right on this one. You are coming across as an assclown. Try making a valid argument against it beyond "'your' an idiot."
