Queens Teen Sues Hospital After Getting Radical Masectomy

A Queens teen was forced to undergo a radical mastectomy after doctors failed to diagnose a cancerous tumor in her right breast - despite four trips to the emergency room complaining of pain and swelling, a new suit claims.

For five months last year, Queens Hospital Center doctors told Kenia Orellana, then 19, that the growth was an infection, says the suit filed last week in Queens Supreme Court. Only after she went to Mary Immaculate Hospital did she learn that she had a malignant tumor.

"Had the condition been properly worked up initially," the "result would have been much different," said her lawyer, Elliot Taub
