If parents used this amount of force or any fraction of it on their child for any reason it would unarguably be considered a case of child abuse. Officers, especially when dealing with minors should be held to the same standards as their parents.

15 year old's are always copping an attitude, that's part of their job. Adults have the responsiblity to show the correct way to react to hard situations, violence is never the appropriate way to react. Unless you're life is at risk, and, clearly these two officers were far from that case.

I'm siding with the police on this one. We have no way of knowing what the girl said or did off camera. By her body language, it was clear that she was copping an attitude. Then when she kicked her shoe at the officer, he decided to teach her some respect. Good for him.
Aside from that, news says that she was arrested for stealing a car. Leave it to some punk kid to think life is just some big game.

I'm starting to think that a person has to be unstable and domineering to even consider joining the force. Even a someone with a calm demeanor has to think in pretty absolute moral terms to consider enforcing a bunch of arbitrary laws. There's got to be an alternative.

I read from another site earlier that this cop had been investigated for shooting two men and killing one of them.

The whole thing is that I bet they actually asked her to take off her shoes. She was going into an isolated cell and the way she took the first shoe off seemed pretty non-agressive, and she we clearly about to take of the other one, the attack seems like a total surprise to her. This is not only a case of police brutality, but also gender based violence.

On the other side, these cops obviously used extreme force, passed the line and should be suspended for 3 months without pay. Handling a person by the hair is not correct nor beating her up this way after she is NOT a threat for the Officers. Both should be suspended at least 3 months.
