CIA destroyed 92 interrogation tapes

WASHINGTON (AP) - New documents show the CIA destroyed nearly 100 tapes of terror interrogations.

The figure is far higher than the handful of recordings the agency has previously admitted destroying, and the revelation comes as a criminal prosecutor is wrapping up his investigation in the matter.

The acknowledgment of dozens of destroyed tapes came in a letter filed by government lawyers in New York, where the American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit seeking more details of terror interrogation programs.

    • An act of patriotism, sense Obama and his Muslim loving liberal's are letting out killers, stopping means of gettiing intel to save good lives, and are taking anything that is protective of the American people or our Constitution and attempting to undermine it and us. Keep Intel out of the hands who agenda is to destroy our Constitutional and God endorsed way of life, Obama and his coharts are the enemy to the above, I applaud the good sense of the CIA.

We must all stand up and say NO to his wreckless spending, his spreading of socialism, his ignoring the constituion and our laws by hiring TAX THIEFS, by the fact they are and admit, make these enemies of the USA, by thier actions.

"Tony", if you read my many posts you will know my position on taxes, and Federal Overlords. "Damn them and damn them all"!
Next, I will say "damn the liberals", and "damn the conservatives", as they all have a hand in my pocket! When will wel be rid off these parasites? They bring no value our society, yet continue to suck and spend the lifeblood of our children to serve their mercenary purposes. I will cut my tirade short for now, holding it in reserve for the next "patriot", with a lack of understanding, yet willing to murder or die for the wealth of the gangsters ruling our country. I respect your individual contributions to our country. Honor to you! I know that you are a good man, that has sacrificed much for the U.S.

    • I was once arrested for defending myself in a bar fight. As I was the one left standing when the cops arrived I was immediately beat to the floor and handcuffed. After asking the details from the bar tender they realized that they had nightsticked, beat, an innocent man. Their response was to arrest me for public intoxication (a misdeamnor) sp, refuse me an alcohol test and took me to stay overnight in the pokey, while threatening to reconstruct my face enroute and in the jail. This was all done to protect them from a lawsuit. Houston cops are as corrupt as any in this world and every cop, CIA, and military prick operate using the same cover their ass principle. At the time of this incident I was a +50 year businessman just out of knee surgery and clearly not a threat to them. If it happened to me it could happen to anyone. I now have a little more sympathy for the DWB people. The pricks in power will do anything to protect that power because they have no other marketable job skills.

mostly because they aren't petarro. they aren't helping anyone by committing crimes. They're making it easier for themselves and more dangerous for the rest of us.

funny that you'd argue against the rule of law

Like Nixon said, If The President does it, is not breaking the Law. :)

Nah, but these guys that were mostly "interrogated" were not because they stole a box of milk.

    • Old Man Bush used to head the CIA. My guess is that it is like having cockroaches. Thoroughly infested with criminals like him. Remember this his father, Prescott Bush tried to off FDR!

    • The solution to this problem is simple. Punish them as if the tapes they destroyed held the worst case scenario. I personally assume they wouldn't destroy tapes that didn't have evidence of a crime. Therefore, we pretend they were tapes of brutal torture inhumane treatment and leave it to the "destroyers of proof" to prove otherwise.

Socialist shit clownpuncher? I'm pretty sure the necessity for evidence being destroyed was so that Bush's policies could be covered up. Those policies being conservative, right-wing, and verging on fascist.

    • If you're not doing anything wrong, then you don't need to destroy evidence.

Not that it wasn't already clear, but this is definitely the smoking fucking gun that shit was going on in there that was way worse than what they were letting on.

I'm disgusted by this, partially because I have a feeling that there won't be any justice.

    • Not surprising and believable, but I'm curious what the evidentiary documents had as proof of this number.

Quite possible that more than the actual number is significantly higher? Was ANY information retained in these found documents?

    • Go figure,.....Our own government committing crimes by destroying evidence that may have implicated themselves, actively working against justice, and proving that trusting the government is near impossible.
