8 Die as Gunmen in Pakistan Attack Cricket Team

A dozen gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan national cricket team and its police escort in a brazen commando-style operation in the city of Lahore on Tuesday, killing six police officers and wounding at least six cricketers before fleeing in motorized rickshaws, the Lahore police chief and a Sri Lankan official said.

The attackers ambushed a bus carrying the cricket team, using assault rifles, grenades and anti-tank missiles. Some Pakistani officials likened the audacity of the assault to the attacks in Mumbai, India, in November.

Two bystanders were also killed and six officers were wounded, according to the police.

    • We all know what this is and we all know it will happen again and again and again etc. this is not gunmen and a sports team, no. This is Moslem kiling Moslems. They will do it over and over...just watch as the days and weeks and months go by....They have killed motre of each other than all the Jews in history pl;us than all the Americans and all the French and the English and Australia and on and on ...but they will scream and yell about the ones killed in Gaza while at the exact time they know they will kill again.
      This picture is oly one picture and there were thousands like this before this photo. There will thousands like this after this photo. We all know the relligion....kill anmd kill and hate and spill blood and kill and hate and decapitate and chop off hands and feet and heads and kill and hate and then call yourself religious and go to heaven to the teenage virgins... yeah right.

    • Man, they will go to any length to win a game over there. Muslim people fear the Christian Cursaders, obviously a hold over from the Crusades of 1000 AD. However, history will bare this truth that more Muslim have been killed at the hand of other Muslim than any hostilities between them and the west. Note in Iraq, suicide bombers often killed only innocent bystanders and a lot of the time it was difficult to determine what their target was. Restaurants, shopping malls, bus stations, I mean come on, those aren't really high value military targets, ya know.

      When dealing with the fanatical fringe you never know what they will do. First you have to get noticed and often the most deaths occur as some idiot wants to get noticed, same as here in the US. Once they are noticed then for their reputation they must continue bombing. Whoever came up with suicide bombers was a genius. I mean, you have a self guided bomb that can decide where to go and when to detonate. The military would give millions for that kind of technology if no humans were involved. That is the difference between us and them. We value our people, but they seem to think of their young men as little F-15s flying around on the street looking for targets.

      Troops in the area should keep your eyes open for men running around with their arms stuck out making airplane noises as they pretend to be planes.

      But I'm off topic, we should take a close look at all the Cricket teams around the world, maybe that is where Osama bin Laden is hiding.
