Susan Tappeiner, 42-year-old Bluffton woman has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy she had been baby-sitting. Tappeiner faces criminal sexual conduct charges after she allegedly assaulted the boy in August while baby-sitting him and his sisters.
The boy's mother said Tappeiner had only baby-sat the boy once, and police do not believe there were any other incidents.
Tappeiner is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Tappeiner has two children. Bluffton police have sent information about the assault case to the Beaufort County Department of Social Services. Tappeiner is scheduled to appear for a grand jury hearing March 26, the county solicitor's office said.
