Mahatma Gandhi preached peace, but that hasn't kept his descendants, countrymen and followers from squabbling over an auction of a few of his meager possessions today in Manhattan.

The sale at Antiquorum Auctioneers has sparked outrage from Mumbai to Madison Avenue.

The items - including Gandhi's eyeglasses, sandals, pocket watch and the bowl and plate that he used for his last supper - are being sold as a single lot, with a $20,000-to- $30,000 reserve price.
