Gay rights charity accussed of discrimination by ex-staff

Former staff at a major gay charity which prides itself on promoting equality are claiming of they were victimised and discriminated against by the organisation. Manchester's gay community eagerly await the result of a major employment tribunal.

On Friday we called the press office of the Employment Tribunals Service in London and gave them the relevant case numbers associated with the current case against the Lesbian and Gay Foundation bought by former staff Alistair Gault and Molly Dunn who are claiming unfair dismissal on the grounds of age discrimination. Their case was supported by up to 10 other former staff, trustees and board members.

We were told that the case has now been fully heard and the judge has been given time to deliberate and return a verdict. This could take anywhere between one week and several months.

Paul Martin - one of the defendants and also Chief Executive of the Lesbian and Gay Foundation didn’t appear in court face to face with the claimants and instead sent his barrister.

GayMafiaWatch also spoke to a key witness who we will not name but they did tell a friend “much more might yet come of this than a tribunal verdict”.

Since the story first made the headlines the LGF has seen it's supporters plummet, and various high-profile member of the community have been asking a lot of questions. In a humorous twist some former volunteers have set up a spoof site at http://ww.thelgf.org.uk

You can find out more about dodgy practices in this organisation on our article from May 2008

    • This local blogger has written and interesting article about the outcome of this court case and the wider implications it has on this flagship of gay greed.

How much will this cost the "charity" and where will they get the money to pay all the legal fees for their own legal representation and the claimants plus the compensation and back-dated pay? Don't forget all the times they've managed to gag former staff from taking it this far and have settled with cash out of court?

It is the gay community and the tax-paying public who are the buiggest loosers as a direct result of the LGF's dodgy dealings that have been allowed to continue for far too long.

Lesbian and Gay Foundation: the beginning of the end?:

Disturbing reading! If you live in Manchester then this affects you!

    • I can confirm Molly Dunn has won her unfair dismissal case. The court did not agree with the age discrimination angle. Bur was disgusted by the LGFs actions.
Time for Paul Martin to resign before this charity goes bust

    • Not sure about the term "the gays" being used by the member "Ares" above.

I am gay and I am disgusted with the LGF's behavior as well as your comment "the gays" as your implying that everyone under that sexual umbrella thinks and does everything the same including me.

My actions and the way I behave towards other human beings has nothing to do with my sexuality what so ever.
Thats like apologizing for your behavior the other night because you were drunk, its nothing to do with alcohol, its to do with your inability to manage your own actions. If your an asshole when you drink then don't fu**ing drink lol

The fact that one or more individuals decided to dismiss someone else from their jobs is as much to do with sexuality as a baguette is to do with a watermelon, Nothing!

They are actions of people not actions of sexual orientation.

So what if some people who happen to be gay or work for LGF unfairly dismiss someone? It happens all day every day all over the world. So why is this particular one getting media coverage?
Because again it just reaffirms peoples perception of homosexuals.
They must be all perfect like robots and sit on the other side of the table cos I don't want to get butt raped, for christ sake I mean this just shows people that were just as vulnerable about making bad decisions or being as unfair as everyone else is.

No one was injured or killed, although I don't agree with ageism and I am in no way condoning their actions I do feel annoyed when there are bigger problems in the world to be worrying about like wars, gun crime, drug abuse, sexual assault etc...
instead of a DISMISSAL which has nothing to do with someone's love for penis hmmm yumm LOL!!
