Project for a New American Century - Completed in 2006
They were chasing an imperialistic America, based on the ideology of Leo Strauss. In doing so they not only managed to piss off most of the world, but they ran our financial sector into the ground and left us with the biggest national debt and deficit in history!
Critical View of Strauss (from Wikipedia: Leo Strauss):
Critics of Strauss accuse him of being elitist, illiberalist and anti-democratic. Shadia Drury, in Leo Strauss and the American Right (1999), argues that Strauss inculcated an elitist strain in American political leaders linked to imperialist militarism and Christian fundamentalism. Drury argues that Strauss teaches that "perpetual deception of the citizens by those in power is critical because they need to be led, and they need strong rulers to tell them what's good for them." Nicholas Xenos similarly argues that Strauss was "an anti-democrat in a fundamental sense, a true reactionary. Strauss was somebody who wanted to go back to a previous, pre-liberal, pre-bourgeois era of blood and guts, of imperial domination, of authoritarian rule, of pure fascism."[23] As evidence, Xenos cites Strauss' attempt in 1933 to gain favor with Charles Maurras, the leader of the right-wing Action Française, as well as a letter Strauss wrote to his friend Karl Löwith in 1933 in which he defended the politics of the political right against the Nazis. Strauss wrote that "just because Germany has turned to the right and has expelled us (Jews), it simply does not follow that the principles of the right are therefore to be rejected. To the contrary, only on the basis of principles of the right – fascist, authoritarian, imperial – is it possible in a dignified manner, without the ridiculous and pitiful appeal to ‘the inalienable rights of man’ to protest against the mean nonentity (Nazism)."[23] [Emphasis in original, parentheticals added for context and meaning]Strauss is also criticized by paleoconservatives. According to Claes Ryn, the "new Jacobinism" of the neoconservative philosophy is not "new, it is the rhetoric of Saint-Just and Trotsky that the philosophically impoverished American Right has taken over with mindless alacrity. Republican operators and think tanks apparently believe they can carry the electorate by appealing to yesterday’s leftist clichés.

Too bad crimes of torture, murder and drug dealing that's committed every day right here in the U.S. by the police can't be brought before the world court.

The U.N says that they will investigate the United States for abuses of terrorist civil human rights but allowed themselves to be bullied into not ever mentioning the thousands of abuses perpetrated by Islamic countries.Iran Saudi Arabia Pakistan the real abusers get a free pass because they told the U.N. to shut up and the brave souls at the U.N. did just that. What a joke the U.N. is proving it's self to be.

If for any reason you expected a different outcome, you've diluted yourself.
I doubt I'll be alive to see it, but years from now the historians will spin G.W.'s legacy the same way they did Abraham Lincoln. Hell, he will probably end up the greatest president of all time.

I think it's more likely that when we're Monday Morning Quarterbacking in 100 years time, George Bush will be seen as the president that presided over the end of America as the world's dominant empire. The financial impact of his reign, may be more significant historically than his war crimes. That said, I believe he should be prosecuted for them.

When you compare Abraham Lincoln, an honest lawyer, an emancipator, and a true Patriot..A man who, as JFK, was Murdered for his humanity after he preserved this country from foreign encroachement
on all sides to a tyrant and War Criminal like Bush...Well,
I realy think you're getting carried away. People rate Abraham Lincoln as the greatest President of all time. My mom told me FDR was very controversial in his time, yet I think he came in a close 2nd because of all the
insane merde he had to deal with, and did effectively.
But Bush/Cheny covered up all their crimes even after committing so many of them for 8 years that it will take the next 4 years at least to unravel all of them. So why don't we wait and see what Senator Leahey's Truth
Commission comes up with first before we make any more snap judgements, hm ? And keep in mind that House Reps. Kucinick & McDermott pledged to investigate Bush on a massive number of grounds whioch I saw. So there may yet be another Congressional investigation into Bush/Cheny's Racketeering. I have a criminal complaint against Bush, myself for violating New York & U.S.Criminal Statutes. Andthat's not going to-quietly or loudly-simply go away either. Because I mean to solicit the DOJ to investigate that one, even if I have to make such a stink the State of New York will have to get involved to complain to the U.S. on my behalf too. Bush may get History's vote as the greatest, but the category will be that of heinous infamy. Because once they unearth all Bush's crimes, they'll need to reopen the case on the 1993 Waco Massacre too when Bush was Governor of Texas. And I predict that atrocity will prove to be as ugly as 9/11. - 3 years ago
