Recession Hits "Sesame Street"

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit producer of ``Sesame Street'' and other kids' programs, is cutting about one-fifth of its work force because of the economic downturn.

    • I'm working in a pbs development office right now. The federal funding is coupled with state cuts and a general malaise in charitable giving. Things aren't all bad but now is a realy good time to give to place public programing in your thoughts. Current as well! Lets keep programing that actualy cares about the people who watch it on air.

    • Do you want to know what happened to Big Bird after he was laid off from his job at Sesame Street? "He was picked up by the coppers and kicked in the balls....between the metal doors of Vine Street he was beaten and mauled....and he ruined his good looks down by the Old Main drag.....
