It is disgusting, but it's the exception, not the rule.
Realize that like six months ago a child molester got 1,000 years in prison for what he did.
Trust me, our justice system is NOT soft on sexual criminals.
Do you know if there was something else going on here? Like if he got a deal for ratting out on other criminals?

I think they gave him the sentence because life without the possibility of parole as a sentence wasn't available, and they wanted to make damn sure he would never get out if some of his sentences were overturned.
Either that or they were ridiculous, I don't remember exactly.
