Lesbians raped to "cure them of homosexuality"

South African lesbians are suffering rapes by men trying to "cure" their homosexuality, in what is becoming one of the most common hate crimes against gay women in the country.

This is a truly horrific crime and needs to be reported wider.

    • HALF of women in SA will be raped in their lifetime? That is vile. This story makes me so sad and I agree, it needs to be reported on more

      Who's responsibility is it to ensure these women are safe?

      I am shocked to hear that frightening statistic as listed above by *abbym0308*.

      Someone has to take action

      They need their penis's chopped off or shall we now rape those men to make them gay?

    • Here's the news report from ActionAid. I can't believe that statistic that half of South African women will be raped in their lifetime. What kind of society allows that to happen??
