Discovered in Northeast China, this small critter, named Tianyulong confuciusi, displayed patches of what look like filaments or protofeathers along the animal's body and tail.
Its fossilized bones are splayed out in a piece of stone and date back to the Early Cretaceous period, 99 million to 144 million years ago.
