A shopkeeper is catching litterers by writing their names on the sweet wrappers and drinks cans. Yvone Froud who runs a post officein Gloucestershire, says if she spots the wrappers in the street, she will ban the litterers from her shop. So far she's only using it on youngsters but as she says it's helped reduce litter by 40% she's considering extending the scheme to adults.
Apparently she knows the name of every local resident and claims she cannot be hoodwinked by customers using other peoples' names.
This might be fine for a small town, but I really can't see this working in bigger cities.

I don't actually see a problem with it not being scalable to big cities. Sure, it's not going to work in London, but it works for them and it works pretty well.

This seems like a good idea but really it just makes me want to say something patronising like "aw look at you and your tiny town ideas". Wouldn't work for Tesco.
