    • How sad. The Welcome Trust certainly seem to think there is a genetic connection in depression. Last year they dedicated £1.4 million to researching it... one of their research fellows, Profession Flint, says "We know that major depression has a genetic component. This project aims to identify the specific genes that make some people more susceptible than others to recurrent bouts of major depression. Knowing more about the biological basis of depression will help researchers develop better therapies."

    • I wonder if depression is genetic.

His father, Ted Hughes, also had a mistress who gassed herself and their daughter in an apparent copycat suicide.

This poor family seems to be beset with misery.
