    • Unclecharlie,
Your the guy who steps over someone injured in the street instead of stopping to help.

Where I come from we tend to help.

Rachel Corrie was a wonderful young woman who was run over by a bulldozer ........................I expect that happened to many Palestinians too, but they have no family with a voice to speak on their behalf, and Rachel tried to help them.

Jews value other Jews.....guess she was a Gentile, so didn't matter, like the latest young caring casualty.

Israel is costing America in both $$ AND LIVES.

      Israel is

    • This reminds me of that hippy chick in Peru who has been imprisoned for a number of years....Personally, I could care less about these people. You want to dance, you gotta pay the piper....If you are naive enough, weakly idealistic, and see the world through rose colored glasses, and you decide to hop a plane to Timbuktu to save the world, you certainly deserve it.....no tears for you!

    • Israel and its supporters must recognise that coping places like RAWANDA who also committed GENOCIDE does not exempt them from answering fot their GENOCIDE.

SOME MEMBERS TRY TO DEFLECT INTEREST IN THE ISRAELI GENOCIDE IN GAZA.................some even send me rather tough messages through the messaging service.......some have advised me to post less............

TO REMAIN SILENT IS TO BECOME COMPLICIT IN ISRAEL'S MASSACRE OF THE PALESTINIANS.

    • Israel Violated principle established at Nuremberg trials of Nazi war criminals-UN
      http://www.thenews.com.pk/print1.asp?id=16...

The evidence mounts against Israel, now accused of violating laws the Nazi regime was accused of. The United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories said on Friday that Israel’s military offensive on Gaza “would seem to constitute a war crime of the greatest magnitude under international law”.

Richard Falk called the 22-day bombardment a “massive assault on a densely populated urbanised setting”, with the civilian population subjected to “an inhumane form of warfare that kills, maims and inflicts mental harm”.

His findings were written in a report submitted to the UN Human Rights Council on Friday.

Islamic and African countries backed by China, Cuba and Russia have a majority in the 47-member forum.

Neither Israel nor US, its principal ally, are members.

Falk said the Geneva Convention required forces at war to be able to distinguish between military targets and civilians. If that is not possible, then “launching the attacks is inherently unlawful”.

Israel launched its offensive on the Hamas-run Gaza Strip in December saying it aimed to stop rocket fire by Hamas into southern Israel.

A ceasefire was declared on January 18 after the offensive left about 1,400 Palestinians dead, many of them women and children.

Three Israeli civilians and 10 soldiers were killed during the offensive.

Falk said that the Gaza border blockade also was not legally justified and may represent a “crime against peace”; a principle established at the Nuremberg trials of Nazi war criminals.

Sealing the border, denying people the right to flee the war zone as refugees, may also be a crime against humanity, his report said.

He said Israel’s violations included alleged “targeting of schools, mosques and ambulances” during the offensive, and its use of weapons including white phosphorus.

He also condemned the firing of rockets at civilian targets in southern Israel by Hamas.

Falk called for an independent experts group to investigate possible war crimes committed by both the Israeli military and Hamas.

    • Israeli troops violated medical ethics says another rights group
      http://www.reuters.com/article/middleeastC...

Israel really thinks it will get away with murder. Every day there are more and more rights groups finishing their investigations into Israels inhumane and bloody attack on Gaza which resulted in the killing of many innocent children and people.

One thing is clear. Israel WILL NOT get away with this, there are just too many rights groups and governments that clearly state their findings that Israel has committe4d some of the most appalling war crimes this century.

      Here is the story:

An Israeli human rights group said on Monday the military violated medical ethics codes during its Gaza offensive, the latest accusation against the conduct in combat of Israel's military.

Physicians for Human Rights-Israel (PHR) described alleged incidents which "reveal that not only did the (military) not evacuate besieged and wounded families, it also prevented Palestinian (medical) teams from reaching the wounded".

PHR's report followed accusations by other human rights groups and Palestinians that Israel's actions during the 22-day offensive in the Palestinian coastal enclave, controlled by the Islamist Hamas group, warranted war crimes investigations.

The Israeli military said the High Court had dismissed a petition PHR lodged on Jan. 19, a day after the offensive ended, and that the allegations were still being investigated.

PHR quoted figures issued by the World Health Organisation which showed 16 Palestinian medical personnel were killed by Israeli fire during the offensive and that 25 were wounded while performing their duties.

Zvi Bentwich, a PHR board member, said this was "a reflection of what we consider unclear orders from above to the soldier on the field". He said the Israeli military was "almost indiscriminately shooting at such teams".

PHR said Israeli forces attacked 34 medical care facilities, including eight hospitals during the assault that Israel waged with the declared aim of halting cross-border rocket fire.

    • UN Experts say Israel Gaza Offensive a "WAR CRIME"
      http://www.agi.it/world/news/200903231324-...

The Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip at the end of December was "a war crime". This is the conclusion that was reached by the team of experts from the UN Commission for Human Rights in Geneva. This is not the first time that the commission has expressed serious condemnation of Israel. The assumption from which work by the group led by Richard Falk began is that if "it is not possible to distinguish between civil and military objectives, starting the operation is (an action) that is totally illegal and would seem to constitute a war crime of the greatest magnitude under international law", Falk maintained. According to Falk, "on the basis of preliminary evidence available, there is reason to reach this conclusion" in the case of the offensive on Gaza in which densely populated areas were hit. The Israelis started operations on 27 December 2008 in response to the launching of rockets from the coastal enclave and concluded operations on 17 January. The unofficial estimate of victims is 1,300 Palestinians - amongst whom hundreds of civilians - and about 20 Israelis.

-----------------Pretty clear that Israel has proved itself and became the enemy they hated most

    • Imagine a country that appoints someone who has been found guilty of striking a 12-year-old boy to be its foreign minister. The person in question is also under investigation for money-laundering, fraud and breach of trust; in addition, he was a bona fide member of an outlawed racist party and currently leads a political party that espouses fascist ideas. On top of all this, he does not even reside in the country he has been chosen to represent.

Even though such a portrayal may appear completely outlandish, Israel's new foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, actually fits the above depiction to the letter.

      • In 2001, following his own confession, Lieberman was found guilty of beating a 12-year-old boy. As part of a plea bargain, Lieberman was fined 17,500 shekels and had to promise never to hit young children again.

      • In 2004, Lieberman's 21-year-old daughter Michal set up a consulting firm, which received 11m shekels from anonymous overseas sources. Lieberman, according to the police, received more than a 2.1m-shekel salary from the company for two years of employment. In addition, according to an investigation by Haaretz, he allegedly received additional severance pay – amounting to hundreds of thousands of shekels – in 2006 and 2007, while he was minister of strategic affairs and deputy prime minister. According to Israeli law, this is illegal.

      • Lieberman is an ex-member of Meir Kahane's party, Kach, which was outlawed due to its blatantly racist platform. Moreover, his views towards Arabs do not appear to have changed over the years. In 2003, when reacting to a commitment made by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to give amnesty to approximately 350 Palestinian prisoners, Lieberman declared that, as minis

Nice. However it seems his views on the Palestinian problem are actually more favorable than others currently in power however controversial if the goal is to provide a permanent Palestinian state.

    • Don't put yourself in the middle of a violent conflict if you dont want to run the chance of injury or death. Apparently he made a choice to put his life on the line for what he believed in and now he is about to pay the price for that belief.
