This is for me and anyone else to see what is going through peoples minds about the United States, and the world in general.
This isn't really a poll, its more like a question/discussion.
So here's the questions:
1. What do you see for the future of the government in the US?
2. Do you think president Obama can fix the current economic situation in the U.S.A? If not, what/who do you think is going to fix the current economic situation? How long do you think it's going to take?
3. Do you think fixing our current situation is as easy as having a new president who will bring about change, or will it take more than that?
I know these questions might be a bit unspecific, but there more of topics for discussion.
Please keep the comments under control, I don't have to explain what I mean.

He said he can... in fact, I believe that if he'd invested the 2 trillion he's spent wisely, he could have paved the way for economic growth over a period of time. Now - we're just 2 trillion in debt. Unfortunately, Obama laughs it off if anyone asks him about the economy or unemployment - which by the way, has reached an all time high - 700,000 filed for unemployment in March.
3. Do you think fixing our current situation is as easy as having a new president who will bring about change, or will it take more than that?
There can be nothing more than change, only less. Change is the opposite of monotony and if monotony is cancer change is the cure. Unfortunately, I'm not the quarky doctor who comes to this assessment. Change may or may not be what this country needs, but currently only functions as a placebo for the uninformed masses.

Can anyone take on the greedy oligarchy that wants unfair trade, outsourcing, insourcing,, and desires USA workers to make starvation wages to compete with the third world?
Since Reagan they have been building strength with propaganda, a failing education system, union destuction, and wages that have been stagnant for the working and middle class. I don't know if they can be defeated by one president and even a Teddy Roosevelt might not succeed now. The legislature is in the pockets of the very people in the banking industry and Wall Street that caused the economic disaster.
Unfortunately, I think only a revolution would change the trajectory of ever concentrating wealth that has led to this economic mess. And revolutions do not always turn out the way they should. They can create worse results.
Obviously, I am not optinistic about the future. I think me and my hubby will be fine, but I doubt the younger members of my family will have great futures.

Question 3
I'm trying very hard to trust Obama is who he claims to be.
However, something tells me he is just the right guy at this time to deliver someone else's message to the American people. I feel the people behind the curtain picked him to stand in front of an angry mob and ask for trust and patience.
I don't believe there was any coincidence between the timing of this economic event and the election of a minority as president. I believe it was going to be Obama or Clinton, but definitely a minority.
I believe he will be a popular president while in office, but years after, when Americans are really feeling the consequences of giving up so much liberty to the government, people will look back and question his motives.
I want to trust him. Maybe if he was in a position to do what he wanted to do, I could support his presidency. But at the moment, I still see too many familiar faces in front of the cameras to believe change is taking place.

Question 2.
A...No, I don't believe Obama, nor any other President can "fix" this problem.
I like Obama, but let's face it, the President of the United States is not a King. He has very little control over anything related to the economic problem.
He may have his own opinions and even his own agenda, but he doesn't run the country. No President ever has.
B...I don't believe people losing their homes, investments, retirements and jobs is a crisis to our government. It's a huge opportunity for them and they've been helping this situation along for years.
Our government did everything it could to ensure this "crisis" would happen. The goal of our government is not to get smaller or legislate itself out of a job. The government is a beast with a furious appetite for power and control.
Our government has been watching us grow fatter and fatter, knowing someday, we'll be too fat to do anything but beg for more food. Then we'll eagerly give to them freely, the control and power they've been trying to buy from us for over 200 years.
And C...They will drag this out as long as possible. Before this is "crisis" ends, and Americans can go back to work, the government will try its best to bolster the dependence of the citizens, and institute dozens of new domestic policies to control/protect us.
When they announce the "crisis" is ended, I don't think we will recognize the government we grew in such a short few years.
I believe this "crisis" will drag on, until 2015. Obama will need a 2nd term, so why "fix" everything right off the bat? Run for your 2nd term on the premise of, "let me finish the good work I've started." Then use 15 months to build up your party's "success" to help put another Dem in the seat in 2016.

I find it odd that your post is 5 hours old, yet there are still 0 responses.
Anyway, here's my 2 cents.
Question 1. Because of the deliberate efforts of those who run our government, our nation will continue to separate into two classes. The haves and have-nots.
Have-nots will look for help from the government, which will take from the haves and redistribute to the have-nots.
Private corporations will continue to disappear, giving way to socialized industries and government funded organizations. Citizens working for any company will have their salaries regulated by the government to ensure fair wages for all.
More and more property crimes, including burglaries, kidnappings and robberies will insight fear in the community. This fear will be cultivated by the government, via the popular media, and the nation will cry out for government intervention.
This will result in a new peoples (government operated/controlled) banking entity and moneyless society. With the new GPS enabled smart chip, all trade will be conducted electronically and all movements of the individual will be monitored.
After the smart chip implementation, crime will be at its lowest in U.S. history, and most police services will be replaced by a civilian surveillance patrol. These individuals will be instrumental in monitoring the public welfare, personal consumption limitations and transit of each citizen.
Taxes on vehicle use will limit ones travel and consumption taxes on things like electricity, fresh water and trash services will place huge restrictions on the haves and have-nots, alike.
No private farming will be allowed and all seeds planted for cultivation will be supplied by government labs. Any foods without proper id will be destroyed and the grower prosecuted for agricultural terrorism.
Finally, there will be only one class of private citizen, consuming only what one needs, having no personal wealth or savings for the future and who will be at the total control of a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
