Breastfeeding mum 'too drunk'

A young mother who almost crashed into a police car while breastfeeding her son was too drunk to give a breath test.

The 19-year-old 'failed to blow into the breathalyser – which shows you how drunk she was', a police spokesman said in Australia.

Would that not meant the baby was drunk too?

    • i'm surprised no one has mentioned this..

      just because you fail to blow into the breathalyser doesn't mean you're drunk.. in most places, it's the smartest thing to do if you've had even one drink and then get into a car to drive.

      yes, she's 19 and drinking and breast feeding while driving, but it doesn't necessarily mean she was absolutely tanked because she failed to blow.

      in texas, it's an automatic dwi and trip to jail if you fail to blow. it doesn't mean you'll be convicted or even guilty of anything, just that you're immediately detained for failing to cooperate.

    • I hope that the kid was taken away and she's never getting it back. I don't know anything about Australia laws, but that woman is obviously not fit to raise a child.

    • My friend just had a baby and she breastfeeds the little tyke. Well Saturday night she calls me and tells me she wants to get drunk so she got her breast pump out and made enough milk for her baby for the next day so the alcohol could leave her system before she fed him again. Is that a DUIWBF- Driving Under The Influence While Breast Feeding?

    • After all this stuff lately on current I don't get surprised over anything. These people are terrible parents yet they have kids. When you think of the thousands of good potential couples out there that can not have a child and who would love to adopt it makes you sad.

    • I don't know where to begin with this. First she was drunk driving. Second she was breastfeeding whilst driving. Third she's drunk and breastfeeding. Could she be a nominee for this year's worst mother of the year?
