Scientific studies proving that Prozac encourages psychopathic behavior and suicidal tendencies in young people are voluminous. Red Lake High School killer was on Prozac.

The Uni bomber, Michael McDermott, John Hinckley, Jr., Byran Uyesugi, Mark David Chapman and Charles Carl Roberts IV, the Amish school killer, were all on SSRI Psychotropic Drugs.

Our media does not report that killer,Steven Kazmierczak, Northern Illinois University shootings, had been taking Psychotropic Drugs. Columbine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, as well as 15-year-old Kip Kinkel, the Oregon killer who gunned down his parents and classmates, and Cho Seung Hui, the Virginia Tech killer, were all on Psychotropic Drugs.

"Senseless shootings are an ever-repeating story in America. Everyone seems befuddled each time like it will never happen again and it must have been a failed school system, a bad parent, video games or perhaps an odd song. While these may be contributing factors, we should be open to investigating all possible causes. Our US "News" media never whispers any hint of possibility of side effects of these legal pharmaceutical drugs being a possible part of the cause.

Imagine a cocktail of these drugs in American "troubled teens" and prisoners. This is common in our vastly over-medicated American society. The problem is often combined with other seemingly harmless drugs that often have serious confusion and violence producing side effects. Many people take five or more medications at the same time. This is considered a good thing in the US where more is always better. http://ssristories.com/index.php "

    • I am having a hard time with our society's values these days..Everything seems to be upside down to me..we should have tons of opportunity to go out and plant a garden with hemp and veggies right now..I am forced to buya car to commute to a non green job because there is not a bus to take me..
a person who teaches children, heals with herbs or medicine.. or grows organic food or a woman who wants to archive her family history..should be at the top of our reward system and person who shuffles papers around to steal money from our society or poison our family members with unnecessary drugs should be at the bottom of our system.

    • Clifford Geertz.I found alot of stuff in social anthropology
      What is Culture?

      1. "the total way of life of a people"
      2. "the social legacy the individual acquires from his group"
      3. "a way of thinking, feeling, and believing"
      4. "an abstraction from behavior"
      5. a theory on the part of the anthropologist about the way in which a group of people in fact behave
      6. a "storehouse of pooled learning"
      7. "a set of standardized orientations to recurrent problems"
      8. "learned behavior"
      9. a mechanism for the normative regulation of behavior
      10. "a set of techniques for adjusting both to the external environment and to other men"
      11. "a precipitate of history"
      12. a behavioral map, sieve, or matrix

    • This morning a commercial promoting a anti-depression drug listed their side effects. If the depression didn't get ya, the side effects would. I can't believe anyone would watch that commercial and say, 'hey, that's the drug for me'?

Many pharmaceuticals are dangerous and far too many Americans believe, if it were dangerous they wouldn't be able to advertise it on tv. They blindly believe their televisions. If the television says it, it must be good? But no one is ever held accountable if it's not. Advertisements are not held to honesty standards. If the pharmaceutical companies can afford the dollar amount to buy the advertising spot they are free to mislead.

      yes i agree.
Many people in my circles don't know that the USA and New Zealand are the only countries that don't ban direct to consumer drug advertising. I think it is disgusting..I am older (51) and I can see the age divide..the older people watch these ads on the news and believe them. The younger like my children are not affected. The younger hardly watch the news...maybe this is dying off as our populations age..

we are like a bunch of little Army Ants wrestling a giant.
Have you ever seen army ants in action so we have a shot at it but we need to identify problems and attack ruthlessly.

    • I'm sorry I posted this before but hope it will get voted up again this time because I finally found a good link that backs up the information. It additionally claims it is NOT related to Scientology which is important to me . One of the other links posted before seems like it was affiliated and I took that one down even though the info might have been sound.
Please let me know if you have any other links for this subject...thanks! c

    • I agree we need to do more to investigate the side effects of these drugs. We know they treat depression, but we do not know what other behavioral changes they may cause. There is a new class of drugs out today called atypical anti-psychotics. Used together with SSRIs research has shown they decrease many of the other symptoms that traditional antidepressants do not treat. This a knew trend in pschiatry and it is showing success. That is until we discover the side effects of these drugs as well.
