Joe Scarborough lies about Obama go unchecked on MSNBC

Conniepae
Lies by people like Joe Scarborough which go unchallenged is what is wrong with America. They are allowed to lie in 'plain sight' and no one corrects them. If a lie goes unanswered, does it become fact? Only in the minds of the uninformed and ordinary Americans who do not have time to fact check what mainstream voices tell them.

No one is held accountable for lying to ordinary Americans in 'plain sight'. They use our public airwaves to spread disinformation, without being held accountable, or shamed for openly lying to their viewers. Too many people take them at their word, trusting that if they were lying, someone would speak up and correct their misstatements. Instead, everyone just moves along. SAD! SAD! SAD!

When lies and distortion are portrayed as fact, it leads ordinary Americans to question truthful facts. Fact and spin are spun as equal. That's an "Assault on Reason" and an 'assault on us'.

    • iloveravi, sad, but very close to the truth. American television spins opinion and fact as equal far too often. There are so many cable news shows which give both sides to every discussion, leading ordinary Americans to think the truth could go either way, move along.

We have become a move along society. A lot of talk, little truth. Honesty used to be a quality people tried to achieve. People used to at least attempt to be honest. Today, they package spin and don't worry about honesty.

If people would start holding sponsors accountable for sponsoring shows which openly mislead, things would change. Cable news survives via sponsors. Sponsors survive via viewers. If viewers would refuse to watch shows which spin disinformation, eventually sponsors would realize, sponsoring honesty, is profitable. Sponsoring deception is not! Money talks!

I made the switch a couple months ago. I don't put on MSNBC until Joe Scarborough is over. I used to write letters, but they know what he is saying and they don't stop him. They don't care. They are striving for viewers, not honesty. So, I just say no to Joe!

    • If it is on american TV do not trust it.

      Plain and simple.

American TV is about entertainment not truth.

Their task is to sell ad space not inform the populace.

    • My post was showing Joe Scarborough lying in 'plain sight'. I did not imply Democrats should be allowed to lie in 'plain sight' either. They should all be held accountable and shamed when they try to mislead ordinary Americans with spin (distorted facts), or blatant lies.

None of them should be able to lie in 'plain sight'! People have become enablers to liars. They just move along. Trust is earned. Those who sit idly by while lies are spoken, are not earning trust either.

    • Every time you call one of these righty's on something absurd you get the run around. I'm sure Keith has fib once or twice but we all get it. You can't go 5 minutes not counting breaks on a right wing show without a down right lie or abstract stretch of the truth.

    • All I got from cmdinc in private E-mails was some google webpage suposidly documenting Keith's lies on countdown, but when you dig into them all they are is a bunch of oh he attacks Billo, oh he always attacks FOX even a top 10 list of his lies I couldn't find any substance. Sometimes I think the truth is what they really envie but as of late it's extremely hard to find on the right.

    • Even if his argument was true....So what! By not running one, two, or three oil companies into the ground he is somehow less qualified than our last president?
