My name is Anna. I am Irish. Yes I have lived in the Middle East in the past (17 plus years), and have visited Israel 200 times, possibly more often.
I have had the latest questionnaire from a rather polite man in Jerusalem, but he's sadly misinformed. So...LET'S SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT.
In the last months I have had strange messages...........some initially were bullying (during Gaza War) in an effort to silence me. Then there were those that wanted to be friendly, but two people have written long messages to me and they definitely deserve the courtesy of a reply. So lets set the record straight as such directness and honesty deserves a direct and honest reply.
During the week one asked me :
"........... the future generation has come back to say this is our land and the powers that be in the world recognize it. while i have you here im dying to know why do you hate us so much?i genuinly honestly dont understand it and desperately wish to."
MY RESPONSE:
I understand you were told a lot of lies growing up (as your post indicates) but as an adult I expect you to listen and read to learn the truth about how and why Israel exists. Clearly you are blinkered and want to believe you are the "chosen" race, which is about as factual as a little girl wanting to believe she is a princess because Daddy told her so.
You ask why I hate you...........I hate nobody and want peace in the region.
I speak out against wrong.
I speak out against murder.
I speak out against thieves.
I speak out against liars.
I speak out against people who kill little children and women.
I speak out against people who obstruct FREEDOM OF SPEECH and control the media.
I speak out against people who obstruct journalists reporting the facts (locked out of Gaza Strip during latest war/genocide).
I speak out against people who manipulate Congress and the White House shamelessly.
I speak out against people who starve a Palestinian population and cut off water and electricity, which was shameful, and since 2006 has caused them untold hardship.
I speak out against those who condone killing aid workers.
I speak out against shooting and dropping bombs on innocent victims.
I speak out against people who drop WHITE PHOSPHOROUS to burn the flesh of innocent victims in the way SADDAM HUSSEIN used mustard gas to kill Kurds and Iranians.
I speak out against people who commit GENOCIDE.
I THEREFORE SPEAK AGAINST ISRAEL.
I SPEAK AGAINST ISRAEL REPEATEDLY.....I also speak against RAWANDA.
I WANT THE WORLD TO SEE ISRAEL FOR WHAT IT IS despite all the Jewish owned MEDIA CORPORATIONS in the world portraying Israel as the victim.
Only when the world bands together and calls HALT to Israel's expansionism can we have peace.
Personally I don't think anyone has a right to take Palestinian land and give it away. Would Britain have a right to take Mexico and give it to the United States? No. Neither did they have a right to give Palestinian land to Jews. As for the Bible..........it's like Eve giving Adam an apple. Do you believe that is what happened? Forget the land of Canaan stuff..........and move on..........fact is you displaced the Palestinians and you don't want them to stay....you want them to run away for Israel to expand.....you even say so in your message to me.......re read it.
Reporters are told by their editors to use the word "targeted killing" when Israel murders. Gaza was called a "war"....................it strikes me as not much of a war................a few rockets made with agricultural fertilizer against the most advanced military hardware in the world................it's a joke to call it a "war". Were babies and children called "combatants"..................er, perhaps throwing their bottles and soothing rings as missiles?

MoonLoon, this Irish woman was exposed, she ran away from this discussion since she can't deal with any of our arguments, let alone facts,
so even if she miraculously replies again to one of our posts, it would be a cluster of excuses why she can't answer us or a copy-paste youtube propaganda clip. This articulate supposedly educated pacifist from Ireland is one of many Jew haters who hide under an umbrella of Human-rights campaign so their anti-semite origins would be blurred,
i encountered many of those "Palestine" fans across the web so i know how to deal with them and expose them for who they really are, ugly anti-semite hate spreaders. And one advice for Anna, your religious dogma about the peace loving palestinians has blown in your face, so in sake of your honor, stop your ridiculous hate campaign against Israelis and Jews just like the fanatic late ex-pro-palestinian writer Oriana Fallaci did.

They were told to stay out of the area. Are they this ignorant? Or looking for headlines in the Sun, approving their bravery? Give me a break, we know their agenda. Why not donate the yacht and all of the supplies to a reputable charity organization that is approved to deliver to Gaza. A bunch of showboating hot dogs looking for publicity!

Why can't you reply to the solid argument i brought?
Is it the same reason why you haven't reply to my question whether you have a proof to "Palestine" existence as an independent and separate Arab nation/people/entity prior to the establishment of Zionism and the same reason why you haven't replied to me from what the name "Palestine" derives from?
If you are incapable of answering my hard question and arguments, why people should take your words seriously?
why do you call yourself a middle-east expert?
It seems to me that the only thing you are capable of doing is just recycling slogans and old messages by copy-paste and not conduct any sort of real conversation which any question and argument, no matters how hard it is, is being answered and not ignored. - 2 years ago

Israel and all of you there are not nice neighbors and I don't want to waste energy on your outright lies and warmongering.
The information is all around us...........ISRAEL wants desperately to attack Iran and is using the United States.........Israel tries to be the tail that wags the dog.
As for me....the reasons I speak out against Israel are:
I speak out against wrong.
I speak out against murder.
I speak out against thieves.
I speak out against liars.
I speak out against people who kill little children and women.

Everything the members of Dignity said is biased, they are convinced that Israel is a criminal country and the Gazans are pure angels so why should anyone, let alone me, take their words seriously?
Some people define their opinions upon facts, and others, like the member of "Dignity" and you define facts on the basis of their opinions.
The facts are that almost any incident in the world has two versions, and you are in no position to judge any of those sides as wrong or right.@Highr0ller posted a photo of Israeli soldier supposedly aiming his M16 toward a Palestinian infant.
Anna, this is one of propaganda items that used by the Palestinian spokesmen and partners all over the world to bash Israel, but didn't you stop for a minute to think about this photo? do you know under which circumstances this photo was taken? do you know if the soldier really aims his weapon at this little kid? have you been in the same spot at same time that the photo was taken?
It's very easy to take photos without their context and post them under a certain title, it doesn't mean that your interpretation of this image is the right one.@Highr0ller wrote:

Then, without provocation or any warning we were rammed. It was a blow to the front port side. It wiped out the wheel house and took away some of the upper deck.’
Healey, a 53-year-old Cyprus-based marine engineer from Portsmouth, said the Israeli Navy had made no radio contact before the collision nor fired any warning shots.
‘They told us to turn back to Cyprus. They claimed we were involved in terrorist activity,’ he said.
He managed to guide the limping Dignity into the Lebanese port Tyre.
‘Initially, we took in quite a bit of water but managed to stem the flow once we got the pumps working.’
There were no casualties among the 15 passengers and crew, among them four Britons, including Dr David Halpin, an orthopaedic surgeon who had volunteered his help to Gazan hospitals and clinics.
Israeli officials portrayed the collision as an accident and insisted the patrol boats had radioed the Dignity to turn back before the collision occurred.
They accused the international activists on the boat of ‘being intent on creating a media incident’.
Karl Penhaul, a Briton correspondent for CNN on the Dignity, said suggestions it was a mere collision ‘doesn’t square with what we saw here at sea’.
The US-based Free Gaza Movement, which operates the Dignity, said it was intercepted 90 miles from Gaza in international waters and accused Israel of an act of ‘piracy’.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office in London said that ‘the UK is internationally responsible’ for the Dignity because it is registered in Gibraltar.
He said: ‘We advised all British nationals on the boat to Gaza that it would be reckless and dangerous at this time. At the same time, we told the Israeli government that we take the safety of our nationals seriously and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.’

the DIGNITY was rammed 3 times by Israel on Dec. 30th.
When has Israel last hijacked a plane or ship,
It is happening all the time. Just ask WorldpeaceTV about it. They rammed the ship DIGNITY and tried to sink it during their effort to take medicine and a little food to the Palestinian people. '. The Free Gaza boat, the DIGNITY, was rammed three times by the Israeli navy on December 30 while it was clearly in international waters. ''
======================
Former Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, standing beside a damaged yacht in the Lebanese seaport of Tyre, Tuesday accused the Israeli navy of ramming the vessel to halt the delivery of medical supplies to the embattled Gaza Strip.
“Our mission was a peaceful mission,” McKinney told CNN. The recent Green Party candidate for U.S. president is the most prominent political figure to join the relief voyages sponsored by the Free Gaza Movement.
A U.S. State Department spokesman said Tuesday that U.S. diplomats had issued no protests to Israeli authorities. “When you enter a zone of conflict, then you have to realize that it’s very, very dangerous,” the spokesman told reporters.
In a news release Tuesday afternoon, one of the 16-member mission, Caoimhe Butterfly offered a conflicting version. The Israeli gunboats “gave us no warning” and “rammed us three times,” she said.

Last updated at 6:26 PM on 30th December 2008The British skipper of a boat carrying medical supplies and peace activists to the Gaza Strip in defiance of an Israeli blockade told today how his vessel was rammed by an Israeli gunboat.
Denis Healey spoke of ‘panic stations’ on the Gibraltar-flagged Dignity after the pre-dawn collision in international waters.
Two Israeli gunboats had been shadowing the 20-meter motor yacht for half-an-hour, ‘shining powerful searchlights at us, blinding us,’ Healey said.

If I grasp the intent of all posters; we cannot trust anyone from the "Middle East". However, all the dialogue, smoke and mirrors, has failed to answer one question. Why have Muslim extremists conducted terrorist attacks against innocent men, women, and children all over the world? When has Israel last hijacked a plane or ship, or sent suicide bombers in to murder, yes murder, innocent people. When the Muslim apologists can answer this question I will respect their point of view. And do not bring up Gaza to support the weak position held by Muslim criminals intent on murder. The Muslim agenda was in motion long before Gaza was a problem. Tom Jones once sang a song about picking up a frozen snake and then being bitten by the same thawed out snake, because after all that is what snakes do. Muslims are the snake in our pocket! All of the propaganda generated by their Western mouthpieces will not change the fact that they are devoid of honor, except toward the Muslim brethern!

Muslims are not a race, they are composed of many races worshipping Allah. Therefore, I cannot be accused of being racist. I will , however, admit to despising any people that hide behind religion to commit murder of the innocents. Jews,Christians,Muslims, Hindus, and all others that cannot live in harmony with us all, have earned my disfavor. Put a plug in the Muslim apologies and maybe someone will listen to your point of view. You are not helping them. If you have so much influence in their arena, then suggest stopping the murder of innocent people. Hatred and revenge has driven them to the point of insanity.

THE GREAT BENEFACTOR
Since the October War in 1973, Washington has provided Israel with a level of support dwarfing the amounts provided to any other state. It has been the largest annual recipient of direct U.S. economic and military assistance since 1976 and the largest total recipient since World War II. Total direct U.S. aid to Israel amounts to well over $140 billion in 2003 dollars.2 Israel receives about $3 billion in direct foreign assistance each year, which is roughly one
‐fifth of America's foreign aid budget. In per capita terms, the United States gives each Israeli a direct subsidy worth about $500 per year.3 This largesse is especially striking when one realizes that Israel is now a wealthy industrial state with a per capita income roughly equal to South Korea or Spain.4
Israel also gets other special deals from Washington.5 Other aid recipients get their money in quarterly installments, but Israel receives its entire appropriation at the beginning of each fiscal year and thus earns extra interest. Most recipients of American military assistance are required to spend all of it in the United States, but Israel can use roughly twenty
Israel's strategic value during this period should not be overstated, however.13 Backing Israel was not cheap, and it complicated America's relations with the Arab world. For example, the U.S. decision to give Israel $2.2 billion in emergency military aid during the October War triggered an OPEC oil embargo that inflicted considerable damage on Western economies. Moreover, Israel's military could not protect U.S. interests in the region. For example, the United States could not rely on Israel when the Iranian Revolution in 1979 raised concerns about the security of Persian Gulf oil supplies, and had to create its own "Rapid Deployment Force" instead. - 2 years ago

The Saudis are very wealthy and PAY for their weapons. America gives no donations to Saudi.
Egypt, a poor country, is a beneficiary of American largess on condition they do not attack Israel. This is so ever since the Peace Accord and the Peace Treaty that President Anwar Sadat signed in 1979.
You say:
" Furthermore, Iran funds the Palestinian terrorist organizations by exporting a huge amount of weapons and ammunition, why don't you criticize it? ''That is a load of XXX because nothing has been getting in to Palestine for some years now....the borders have been tightly sealed by Israel and even there are problems with foreign aid getting through.
I lived in Iran in the reign of the Shah and I know that Iranians are not Arabs and have poor relationships with the Arab countries. Iranians are a different race of people to Arabs and when their country was occupied by Muslims they changed to Muslim religion....but they adapted it and hence Iranian Shia religion is different to other Muslim religions.
Why would they be interested in Palestinians? They are not, but like the rest of us they can see what Israel is doing in the region. In fact the whole world sees, and has seen. Israel will not allow cement into Gaza to reconstruct their country as Israel wants to push the Palestinainas off that land and settle there. Now don't waste any more of my time trying to call me a liar. Read the book I have put up on the next link and stop trying to sell your propaganda.

We donate to the Saudi's, we buy most of their oil. Of course, overpriced, due to the OPEC monopoly. They get their fair share of U.S. money, don't worry about that and their fair share of U.S. blondes which they are strangely attracted to. By the way, how do you make a living? Are you by chance subsidized or paid by Muslim/Arabic interests. I was wondering if your book was somehow supported by Muslim/or Arabic finances. It just seems that your point of view is always skewed toward Muslim interests, without regard to other facts. No offense, I am just curious. Maybe you are a true believer. You stand up against global criminals, but remain strangely silent about Muslim terrorists and their crimes. Posting a photograph of this child in Gaza is without merit. If you are truly, Irish, we can then pull up some more photos of British atrocities. Yet you remain silent about the "Troubles". We can freely discuss crimes against humanity, when you represent your own downtrodden people.

US Aid: The Facts
Israel and the US have a long-established special relationship. The US was the first country to recognise the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.
Israel is considered America's closest non-NATO ally in the Middle East, a region that is geopolitically crucial to the US.
The close relationship between the two states is reflected in the volume of aid Israel receives from the US. Since World War II Israel has been the largest overall recipient of US aid: from 1949-2006 Israel received more than $156 billion of direct US aid.
Until 2003, Israel received approximately one-third of the annual US foreign aid budget. In 2005, the US gave Israel more than $2.6 billion in aid, a budget exceeded only by US aid to Iraq. By comparison, Jordan received $683.6 million, Rwanda received $77 million, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories received $348.2 million.
In the past, a majority of the direct US aid to Israel was via US Economic Support Funds (ESF). The US publicly states that ESF are given in order to support stability in areas strategic to the US. However, the recipient government completely controls how it spends these funds.
The US also lends money to Israel, but these loans are frequently waived before any repayments are made. The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs has estimated that from 1974-2003 Israel benefited from more than $45 billion in waived loans from the US.
Direct US aid to Israel has significantly diminished since 1996 in order to reduce Israeli financial dependence on the US. Speaking to the US Congress in July 1996, Former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared, "We will begin the long-term process of gradually reducing the level of your generous economic assistance to Israel--quotation by Lawrence Clark Powell - "Write to be understood, speak to be heard, read to grow.".

Israelis watch the carnage through binoculars and toast one another and cheer. A very large majority of Israel supports this vicious murder of children. They have the most sophisticated weapons on Earth and they prey upon their neighbors relentlessly. They caused the Afghanistan and Iraq wars which they performed with American gentile lives while wiping out over a million people. This is true and I suspect it is also anti-Semitic.

Anna, i'm sorry to tell you, but you are incapable of convincing unconvinced people like me,
first of all, you selectively answer what you want, and even then, you need high-ranked left wing journalists to provide you with an answer.
Please refer to everything i wrote and not only to what is easy for you to tackle with, and if you can't, you will be exposed as an empty statement Durasel's rabbit that recycle its and other people's propaganda. This should be a real conversation and not a presentation of propaganda items that you randomly found in some internet landfill.

Question: Can you talk about your perceptions on media coverage on the latest war in Gaza?
Fisk: There were two things that happened. First, the international press allowed for their own humiliation: Israel told the press that they couldn't go into Gaza and they didn't really try to, so the press sat outside Gaza and pontificated from two miles away. Israel wanted to keep the international press out of Gaza and they were kept out, that was that.
It is instructive to note that no major Western media outlet had a reporter based inside Gaza who would have been there when it started. Clearly, after the kidnapping of a BBC reporter, who was based in Gaza, it is not surprising that the international news agencies were hesitant to base reporters there. However, it is also instructive to note that it was the Hamas government that had the BBC reporter released, which is not often mentioned now.
Question: So what kind of more widespread effect did the reporting that was left in Gaza have on Western media?
Fisk: Faced with the fact that the only journalists left inside Gaza were Palestinian reporters, the major networks were forced to hand over their reporting to Palestinian Arabs, who in many cases were refugees inside Gaza. This meant that you had Palestinian reporters on the ground talking about their own people, unencumbered by Western reporters cross-questioning them or trying to put 50 per cent of the story on one side and 50 per cent of the story on the other side.
Al Jazeera came out as the heroes of journalism because they had their international service, their English service and also their Arabic service fully operational from offices inside Gaza. Individual Palestinians working for Western news organizations showed that they could be competent journalists, and the Western journalists who sat outside Gaza looked as pathetic as their reporting on the Middle East is becoming.
Palestinian reporters were telling their own stories, in the case [of the Independent] our Palestinian reporter inside Gaza, his father was killed in an air strike, his father who was a pro-Palestinian Authority, English-speaking, well-educated judge, killed in his orchard. So the Independent had on our front page this terrible and tragic story of this innocent man destroyed, atomized into pieces of flesh by an Israel air strike in his orchard, a story reported by his own son in our newspaper.
So this was the kind of journalism from Palestine that we hadn't seen in the major [Western] press, so there was an upside to the [international] press being banned from Gaza. However, the work of the international reporters was truly pathetic.

Could you offer some historical perspectives to the recent war in Gaza?
Robert Fisk: In 1948 when the Palestinians fled or were driven from their homes - 750,000 is the figure widely accepted - those in the north in the Galilee area of what became Israel fled into Lebanon, those in the Jerusalem area fled east toward what we now call the West Bank, those in the south fled into what we now call the Gaza Strip.
For example, in 2000, after the Israelis finished their final withdrawal after 22 years of occupation and went across the border back into Israel, many Palestinians in Lebanon went down to the border and looked across, not because they were looking at northern Israel but because they were looking at the northern part of Palestine as they had known it - some could actually see the villages that their parents or grandparents had come from in 1948.
So there is this whole diaspora around the state of Israel who can't go home because their home is on the other side of the border. This reality revolves around the whole issue of UN General Assembly Resolution 194 on the right of return, [which stipulates that] these Palestinian refugees have the right to return to their homes.
Well over half the people living in Gaza are families, either survivors or descendants of Palestinians, who lived only 10 or 12 miles into what is today Israel. So when you hear the Israelis say the terrorists are firing rockets into Israel, the Palestinians in Gaza can say in many cases, "Well, my grandson is firing a rocket at my town because before 1948 these areas would have been Palestinian property."

Israel barred the journalists......did not allow the journalists to enter Gaza:
=============================
Journalist Robert Fisk talks about the necessity of reporting war from the front lines
Reporting independently from the front lines of war is an increasingly rare engagement for journalists working for major international media outlets. From Iraq to Afghanistan, reporters are increasingly embedded with advancing Western forces on the front lines, operating without independence.
When Israeli military forces launched an invasion into the Gaza Strip, international journalists were barred entry into the territory by the Israeli government for the majority of the conflict. This despite a ruling from the Israeli Supreme Court that called on the government to allow international reporters into the territory. Major international media outlets, including CNN and the BBC, ended up reporting from hilltops in Israeli-controlled territory kilometres away from the actual conflict.
British journalist Robert Fisk has offered fiercely independent accounts of conflicts throughout the Middle East for decades. Stationed in Beirut, Lebanon, Fisk reports for the U.K.-based Independent newspaper and is widely read around the world. Fisk spoke with Hour to offer comments on the media response to the recent war in the Gaza Strip.Often historical context is not included in daily reporting on the Middle East. Could you offer some historical perspectives to the recent war in Gaza?

"Palestinians don't have an army."
Maybe not officially, but Hamas is well-equipped military organization with Iranian long-range missiles that target 1,000,000 Israelis (including 80,000 Bedouin Arabs in the Negev),
explosives, suicide bombers, guns, mortar bombs and etc... actually Hamas is much stronger than the Lebanese army for instance."Israel keeping out all journalists from covering the horror"
so you can blame Israel for "murdering" journalist who are caught in the cross-fire?

Mr. ILSECULAR,Thank you for replying again. As I said before....I NEVER shake hands with Israelis....you have to accept that....I also left a meeting Saddam Hussein was about to enter years ago.....I also would not shake is hand.........and the same went for my one time neighbor ( a refugee in Jeddah), former head of state Idi Amin. I think the reasons are obvious.
===================================Current.com is a wonderful tool.....allowing us all to discuss the problem.
What a dire pity that such an opportunity is not available to the inhabitants of Palestine /Gaza Strip who have no electricity or any opportunity to go online........they don't have food in their bellies, or water to cultivate their crops.....................................and that is thanks to the kind of "humanity" that You , the occupiers of Jerusalem etc., inflict on your fellow human beings.
The game is up....the word is out....and no matter how much YOU AND YOURS claim to be good human beings, I think people have seen enough to draw their own conclusions.
Rwanda and Gaza are two Genocides that I will continue to speak out about.
God grant me strength to right the wrong and see PEACE one day.==========================================
Communicating with Israelis may leave one bewildered. Even now when the Israeli Air Force is practicing murder in broad daylight of hundreds of civilians, elderly persons, women and children, the Israeli people manage to convince themselves that they are the real victims in this violent saga.

From a second reading i found an incredible double standards statement:
@Highr0ller wrote:
"but not all Arabs are criminals, and I do not stereotype people. As 94% of Israelis supported the war in Gaza and some picnicked on the hills overlooking the Gaza Strip to enjoy their suffering during the war"You are accusing me of stereotyping people while you do the same and even worse, not to mention your remark of not shaking hands with Israelis solely due to the fact that they are Israelis,
And what more surreal about the all thing is that you as a left wing pacifist and a human rights activist who condemn prejudices and oppose racism is the most racist of all since even the Palestinian officials shake hands with Israelis.
You are being more Palestinian than the Palestinians themselves.P.S:
according to many surveys and polls, over 85% of the Palestinians support suicide bombings,
P.S no.2:
I'm sure that you will find enough excuses for them to justify the brutal massacre of Israeli women and children. - 2 years ago

can you give me a solid proof to the existence of "Palestine" as an independent Arab state/entity/nation prior to the establishment of the Zionist Movement?
After all, you defined the holy land as a "Palestinian land" and i as a skeptical zionist Jew need to see proof for this.
Another thing, do you even know where the word "Palestine" derives from?please look at this very interesting reference:http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=1297324
PLO member admits that "Palestine" is a fable that made it possible to bash Israel and try to isolate it.@Highr0ller wrote:
".they have thrown all the inhabitants out of the area,"Well, again, this sentence is 100% Arab propaganda, you somehow mysteriously forgot to mention that 5 Arab Armies accompanied by a Palestinian mob waged a war on the pre-independent state of Israel which at that time was barely half a million Jews, Arab forces goal was publicly to throw the Jews into the Mediterranean sea,
So what the Jews were supposed to do?!, to be slaughtered in a holocaust style war?, i know, anna, that you would like it to have happened that way, but unfortunately for you, it didn't...
Furthermore, Arab armies called their fellow Arabs in Israel to move out of the country so it would be easier for them to ethnically cleanse "Palestine" from Jews,
if you don't believe me, you can look for recorded texts by yourself, they are all over the web.And something else, unlike what you think, i'm in favor of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, not because i like it but because i'm pragmatic unlike you who want to wipe out a country and throw millions of Jews into an exile that would be resulted in a second Auschwitz.
Please, i have only one thing to ask you and your fellow anti-globalization/zionism/America/Whatever smells Jewish persons, and this to take out your mask of left-wing caring to Human-beings, because according to you world peace is wiping out everything the Muslims and Arabs don't like and fueling worldwide anti-semitism under the cover of Anti-zionism.

I myself have heard Israelis who are opposed to the continuing crimes committed against the Palestinians say that they themselves cannot talk to rabid Zionists who are committed to dehumanizing, removing, and killing any native Palestinian in their way.
Rational dialog is not a two-way avenue of communication with twisted and irrational minds.
Psychosis can feed on itself and infect a family, or a population, as it can an individual. The core Zionist madness is today one the most demonstrably dangerous and destructive forces in the world today.

It is very telling that certain people would turn around what is truly a hatred of war and its mechanisms into a hatred for the people. I too have defended the Palestinian people because it is fact that their water is being denied them which has led to a total destruction of their agriculture. How can anyone who is human who does not hold a prejudice not understand that it is a human rights abuse? I would speak up as loudly against that if it were the opposite way. I stand with the same viewpoint of Doctors Without Borders: HELP HUMANS without political, religious, or economic labels, especially in times of tragedy and war. It is the humanity that so many have lost that has led to their own hatred and the villifying of entire groups of people to assuage their own political or religious hatreds. And it is that hate that has poisoned the world, not those who see above it.

Pappe, an Israeli historian and a senior lecturer at Haifa University, has written a superb account of the Israeli expulsion of the Palestinians from their land in 1948. He quotes David Ben Gurion, leader of the Zionist movement from the mid-1920 until the 1960s, who wrote in his diary in 1938, ?I am for compulsory transfer I do not see anything immoral in it.? This contradicts the Zionists? public claim that they were seizing a land without a people. Pappe writes of the Israelis? March 1948 plan for evicting the Palestinians, ?The orders came with a detailed description of the methods to be employed to forcibly evict the people: large-scale intimidation laying siege to and bombarding villages and population centres setting fire to homes, properties and goods expulsion demolition and, finally, planting mines among the rubble to prevent any of the expelled inhabitants from returning.? Between 30 March and 15 May 1948, i.e. before any Arab government intervened, Israeli forces seized 200 villages and expelled 250,000 Palestinians. The Israeli leadership stated, ?The principal objective of the operation is the destruction of Arab villages ? the eviction of the villagers.? On 9 April, Israeli forces massacred 93 people, including 30 babies, at Deir Yassin. In Haifa, the Israeli commander ordered, ?Kill any Arab you encounter.? This all happened under British rule in Palestine, where Britain had 75,000 troops: Britain?s Mandate did not end until 14 May. The Labour government connived at the Israeli onslaught, although the British state was legally obliged as the occupier (and also by UN resolution 181) to uphold law and order. Yet the Labour government announced that it would no longer be responsible for law and order and it withdrew all the British policemen. It also forbade the presence of any UN bodies, again breaching the terms of the UN resolution. The government ordered British forces to disarm the few Palestinians who had weapons, promising to protect them from Israeli attacks, then immediately reneged on this promise. On 24 May 1948, Ben Gurion wrote, ?We will establish a Christian state in Lebanon, the southern border of which will be the Litani River. We will break Transjordan, bomb Amman and destroy its army, and then Syria falls, and if Egypt will still continue to fight ? we will bombard Port Said, Alexandria and Cairo. This will be in revenge for what they (the Egyptians, the Aramis and Assyrians) did to our forefathers during Biblical times.? These ravings of an insane warmonger hardly betrayed any genuine fear of a `second holocaust?. The Palestinians were suffering massive expulsion, not trying to destroy the Jewish community. Pappe summarises, ?When it created its nation-state, the Zionist movement did not wage a war that `tragically but inevitably? led to the expulsion of `parts of? the indigenous population, but the other way round: the main goal was the ethnic cleansing of all of Palestine, which the movement coveted for its new state. A few weeks after the ethnic cleansing operations began, the neighbouring Arab states sent a small army ? small in comparison to their overall military might ? to try, in vain, to prevent the ethnic cleansing. The war with the regular Arab armies did not bring the ethnic cleansing operations to a halt until their successful completion in the autumn of 1948.? Overall, the Zionist forces uprooted more than half Palestine?s population, 800,000 people, destroyed...

Pappe blames this development on the rise to power of Classical Zionists, including Prime Minister Sharon, who believe in responsibly balancing the imperatives of democracy with the survival and security requirements of a Jewish state. Pappe bemoans the decline of the post-Zionists, and the diminishing resonance within Israel of their critique of Zionism. He claims that the newly invigorated national pride of Israel is wrongly "dictating the peace agenda to the world."
Pappe concluded his UCLA lecture by calling for a "political and geographical structure to contain Israel" and the imposition of economic sanctions on Israel, in the spirit of the boycott against apartheid South Africa. He called for activists to pressure the international community to pressure Israel in turn. He also advocated the imposition of an international force in the West Bank to protect Palestinians.
Pappe emphasized the need to convince others to abandon the idea of a two-state solution which he deems not viable. He called instead for the creation of one political structure to best serve the interests of Palestinians and Israelis. This recipe for a "multinational democratic state" conforms precisely to the formula long held by the PLO, and of course would result in the immediate and complete destruction of the Jewish State of Israel.
Pappe excoriated the American media for its ostensibly pro-Israel bias, and observed, no doubt correctly, that "Palestinians get a better hearing in Europe." He memorialized Edward Said by recommending acceptance of Said's Principle of the Three "A's: Acknowledgment by Israel of the ethnic cleansing of 1948; Accountability by Israel, to include repatriation or compensation to the Palestinian Arabs; and Acceptance by the Palestinians of a "Jewish element" in their midst. - 2 years ago

Do I treat Israelis differently?
Yes I do. I never shake hands with Israelis.
I also made my excuses and left the day I was to meet Saddam in Baghdad when I visited with a government delegation.
I do not shake hands with murderers.
Jews? I count some among my friends, but none among my closest friends, with the exception of an Auschwiz survivor whom I loved as if she were my sister. Had she murdered someone I would not have been her friend.....................but she was a lady.

Israel was given by the British Empire to the Holocaust victims to have a home, but they have behaved like a cuckoo in the nest ever since going there............they have thrown all the inhabitants out of the area, and out of all the adjoining areas they have taken since then, and they have swelled their population by opening the country up to any Jew who wants to decamp and go and live there......................this was never supposed to happen. Because of this there are thousands and thousands of Russian Jews who sought sanctuary during the Soviet Regime, whom should now return to their homelands. There is a massive population with no right to be there at all. Jews have left from Golders Green in London ( a wealthy suburb) to live in Israel................Israel has been hollering that any Jew can come and live there.
We now end up with a huge Jewish population in Israel whom will have to be relocated again one day if peace is to reign.

Why do I ignore Arab criminality?
Not so...........but not all Arabs are criminals, and I do not stereotype people. As 94% of Israelis supported the war in Gaza and some picnicked on the hills overlooking the Gaza Strip to enjoy their suffering during the war................and the IDF wore tee shirts with pictures of dead Palestinian babies on them afterwards. ....
Sadly your WAR HEROES are my WAR CRIMINALS.

From a second reading i found an incredible double standards statement:

And what more surreal about the all thing is that you as a left wing pacifist and a human rights activist who condemn prejudices and oppose racism is the most racist of all since even the Palestinian officials shake hands with Israelis.
You are being more Palestinian than the Palestinians themselves.P.S:
according to many surveys and polls, over 85% of the Palestinians support suicide bombings,
P.S no.2:
I'm sure that you will find enough excuses for them to justify the brutal massacre of Israeli women and children. - 2 years ago

DIRECT FROM JERUSALEM VIA CURRENT.COM
Tonight I received this well drafted and polite message via current.com direct messaging:
FROMDATESELECT ALL
about your comment regarding to the so called "Israeli apartheid"
sent on Fri, 10 Apr 2009 23:24:28 +0000
My name is XXXX and i'm an Israeli living in Jerusalem,
your arguments about the middle-east conflict are completely biased, especially based on the fact that you blindly admire the Arab-Islamic world and totally ignoring the ongoing crimes committed by this huge and powerful 300 million people nation.
Some of your arguments are baseless, such as those ones:
"Taxpayers are spending over $1 billion to send refined fuel to the Israeli military -- at a time when Israel doesn't need it and America does."
Among American taxpayers, there are approximately 6 million Jews and 180 million devoted Christians who strongly support Israel and want their tax to be allocated to this cause,
your argument is even more empty when you look at the fact that American tax payers fund the Egyptian and the Saudi armies which are equipped with best American military weapons, why should the American taxpayers fund them?
"Jews think we are all second class citizens (the ''chosen'' race) and they have treated the Palestinians in a way that if dogs in my part of the world were treated like that there would be a HUGE outcry."
This an anti-semetic argument which has nothing to do with the current conflict in the middle east, it's even more ridiculous after being compared with other religious texts, such as the Quran which orders the elimination of non-Muslims, type the word "Dhimmi" in Google and find for yourself who Muslims think they are the superior religion in this world.
By the way, where were you when thousands of Native Africans are being massacred daily in Sudan by Arabs? When indigenous Copts, Assiryans and Marouns are persecuted by Muslim invaders? When 13 yrs old girl in Somalia who was forced to marry a man at this age is being stoned to death after being raped as it considered to be an adultery?
You somehow think that Arab-Islamic culture is decent and humanistic, and if you don't think so, why do you accuse Israel of being Apartheid nation when 22 Arab countries treat their own citizens much worse?
if you consider yourself a humanistic pacifist left wing activist, why do you ignore the criminality of the Arab society? why do you solely focus on Israel when so many crimes are being committed by fellow Arab friends?? are you an anti-semite? - 2 years ago

this was the FULL MESSAGE:I replied to above.
A current member sent me this message:
right future generations will say it is thier land yet everyone else in the world reaches a point at wich they realize things change. the jews were in that land for three thousand years but when they were repeatedly kicked out the vast majority settled elsewhere(europe)and did so graciously. no jewish stone throwing at arabs to get thier homes back no martyrdom in the name of god they moved on recognizing the new world order. the palastinians have always had other options besides violence but refused to live in peace with the jews. the future generation has come back to say this is our land and the powers that be in the world recognize it. while i have you here im dying to know why do you hate us so much?i genuinly honestly dont understand it and desperately wish to.--
