Everyone knows that they are really just an astroturf (fake grass-roots) movement.
Their contradictions are apparent.
The close relationship with Fox News is overt, contemptible and unsurprising, all at the same time.
But there is something about blatant lying that's different. When you know the facts but say the opposite.
Using the descriptor "Journalist" should open you up to litigation; in the same way calling yourself a doctor does.
By that I mean, if you aren't a doctor and you say you are, you can be sued. If you say your job is the spread the news but instead you knowingly spread false information people should have the right to sue you. It should be that simple.

I read the sacbee from the 16th and though I see where they say 5000 I can not see where the number came from. Could you show me a link, its just because I'm curious. Just to ad to the thinking process... Our florida today pegged a small event here at palmbay florida at 60 people. I counted double that. from what I understand earlier in the day there was only about 20. The crowd kept growing as more people joined in after work. Many people had no idea it was going to take place till they saw the crowd because of less than excellent pre media coverage.

I saw this on oberman the second night he played part of it and it didn't seem right. I came here to watch the whole video. All I heard was cavuto talking with his producer about what they thought the number might be, estimating easily 5000 and at one point the producer mentions waiting to hear from someone about the size of the crowd. Looking at many different pictures of the event I would say 10k isn't out of line. Some people even say it was closer to twenty. Here in florida our paper printed that 60 people showed up in palmbay. Maybe when they were there but by the time people started to get out of work (like me) there were more than a hundred (thats when I stopped counting) Thats just in hicktown. And they were all over the nation that way with very poor coverage by the media.
Cavuto may have lied but from what I see I doubt it or it would have been a bigger story. - 2 years ago

It says the figure was from the Ca Highway Patrol. Not sure what fight you are fighting here - Cavuto clearly thought the crowd was about 5,000, the CHP said the same thing as did the person Cavuto was talking to who is not shown in the vid. Someone telling a crowd there are more of them than there actually is, is not uncommon, speakers do that a lot to rev up a crowd. However, Cavuto was not supposed to be in the role of some politician trying to rev up a crowd. He was reporting to his news service and the public. He clearly lied or in this day and age are we supposed to call it, "mislead"? He intentionally deceived his viewers - knew he was doing it. Of course the backdrop reason this is sad and why anyone cares, isn't just that he lied but that it once again showed that FOX isn't remotely "fair" or "balanced" - a claim anyone paying attention knows is the BIG lie. Quite sad for the nation that there are some who still buy into that BS. Fox viewers tend to think they are being persecuted because the world does not live in their false reality. The same people who for years complained about bias in reporting now thrive on it. That is not healthy for the country.

It's like FNC believes the American public has no individual intelligence or short-term memory.
