Chris is aiming to be the longest serving breakfast show presenter on the stations history (of which Tony Blackburn is currently stands at 5 years and 9 months).
Moral of the story: Don't always believe what tabloid newspapers are saying...

It probably is about time for Chris Moyles to leave Radio 1...that way it will be him who decides when he goes. He gets to leave with his pride more or less intact.
Once he reaches the heights of longest serving breakfast show (and that time has flown by!) he should step down of his own accord.
He's had a good innings there. Despite how he has pissed people off lately he was actually very good once as well.
Here is what he said on air in response to the story in the Sun this morning (all of his 12 minute rant)

He does push his luck sometimes but he does bring in the ratings. Although he might leave to focus on a TV career you never know.

His ratings are huge so it seems a strange choice to get rid of him, even if he is a bit old. Besides, he's only 35. Eminem's 36 and nobody would think of him as too old.
