Jay Bybee, a sitting federal judge just one step bellow the Supreme Court is the author of the now infamous torture memo. Using tortured logic he cleared the way for justification to ignore international law, standing US law and common decency. Appointed to the bench by the previous administration - the same one that tortured and lied, he has a job for life, unless he's impeached.
