I agree, but Mexico's been coming to us for years, right over the border and into the city.
We have 'undocumented/illegal mexicans working all the way up thru' the eastern seaboard. So the virus will come to us.
IMHO when humans are all gone virus' and roachs will be left.

    • we are doing too much with everything as an animal. we move around too much, make too much stuff, mix too much stuff. i wonder if this is somehow related to commercial farms where pigs are treated like logs. these farms don't have to make the existence of these animals worse then it is.
i understand that they are to be consumed, but you don't have to beat them, keep them in filth, and give them no space. so if it's from these conditions, the we humans have what's coming to us. we may be at the top of the food chain, BUT, bacteria/viruses are "above" us, it's a circle of recycling and eating.
there is too many of us doing too much damage and terrible things, we are the problem. if you disagree with this, then you're ignorant and probably a zombie.

i completely agree with EVERYTHING that Wessagusset_Oracle we need to just chill out on things. i don't think what ever put us here intended on us taking over the earth and getting rid of anything that stands in our way. I think we need to work with the earth and the animals and the environment. oh and the meat that comes from those places is GROSS!!!!

SPACEJAM; whatever put/made us; i'm sure it had no intentions/plans for us. but yes, everything is out of balance. we are creeping into other species' land, taking it over, and killing things out. we have the power of everything. we own this planet.

    • Everyone here is scared, you can count dozens of persons wearing masks on the street, and in the governmental offices you can read the memos telling the staff to wear masks and don't shake hands. In one office I visited this morning they have the janitor cleaning the waiting room every half an hour. The drugstores have the message from the secretary of health looping in the sound system instead of the usual music (bastards). The schools and daycare centers are closed in Toluca as well (where I live) 60 km east from Mexico city. The principal from my sister's faculty told her she got the order at 3am today, "it all just happened with such a short notice". We are scared.

      Hey M

Good to read your experience - and I thought, brave to post it...

& we hear you! we are listening...

I think there is deep concern as this reported across the world of it's outbreak in Mexico City & in the US also - it's in the UK newpapers [Guardian / BBC ] & on the BBC news - so your fears are drawing worldwide concern.

Whilst very frightening, it is also reported that it's not a the strongest of strains... & responds to treatment which is good news. & it's useful to get some perspective on these things .. today is also anti malaria day - which kills millions of people [granted a little more slowly] but we tend not to worry about it too much! - although the will to overcome it is a now a huge & powerful global movement. Cars also kill a huge amount of people [sorry to be morbid] but we don't run screaming from them & unfortunately cigarettes... well you know the story.

Concerns and good thoughts for you - keep blogging of your experience!& keep perspective.

      Best wishes & care..
